Does anyone have any info on this card? A reader of my Error & Variation blog posted a comment about this and sent me this scan as well asking for info. I had previously never seen any "white name" subjects in 1993 UD so it was a pretty fascinating find in my opinion. Since the name lettering uses a gold ink, it's possible that it was a missed-step in the printing process or it may something else.

Nice, I wish I had it. I love searching for the different variations. Probably just missing the final stage of printing, but cool nonetheless. I have a 95 Topps Cyberstats of Henderson that has silver foil letters instead of the gold. I also mentioned awhile back about the 82 Perma-Graphics with the metallic copper star, inset border & circle where the banner is on the bottom. Here is a link to check it out.

Victor Vito & Freddie Vasco ate a burrito with Tobasco. You need to get Disney Childrens Favorite Songs CD Vol. 2. My wife & I would listen to this when the kids werent  in the car. Songs like, The Bear Went Over the Mountain and On Top of Old Smokey. I miss those damn songs.

The weirdest thing happened. She used to watch it a bunch, but she couldn't speak at the time. Then the disc started skipping on just about every song, and we quit watching it. Then she learned to speak, and she had all of those songs memorized. Isn't that weird? I thought it was. I think the reason she started talking was so she could sing "moon moon moon"! She is totally and completely fascinated with the moon. Have you ever noticed how often the moon is still in the sky during the day? Renée has tought me all about it. She'll say "moon!" and point to the sky and I'm like "what are you crazy? it's almost noon!" and then I look up and BAM, there it is. woah, weird. I'm not sure how the moon works exactly, it's all over the place. We have to hunt for it every night, she insists and never forgets. And it's fascinating, that moon. I've learned so much about it in the last few months. Weird, I never cared to put any thought into the moon before, even when I worked the graveyard shift. But lil Né has me inspired. As mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm 34... think it's too late to start becoming an astrophysicist? :ugeek: I'm really excited for when she's old enough for a telescope, which should be soon. Right now anything similar to a baseball bat gets swung like a bat while she cries "here comes the pitch... and the swing... HOME RUN!!!" and then she turns around......... (that was a little Laurie Berkner for you big kids who don't listen to the kiddie music.)

I'll have to keep my eye out for the Disney disc. There are a couple on ebay but they are $10 for a single CD... I'm just too cheap. I got the Berkner DVD+CD for like $6. Very pleasing.

ryan, get off your a$$ and get a telescope dude. this week saturn is like really close and bright. i thinks its even better in a cheaper scope because you see that lil ring circling the thing all in brilliant white light :geek: i'd give ya my old one if it didnt cost so damn much to ship. if you was in arkansas id just drop it off ::facepalm::
you are too old to become an astrophysicist, by the time you became qualified and credentialed and all that, everything in the sky will have done changed position

Card does say prime, but it probably wasn't this patch. Even if it was this patch, that price is way too high. This is exactly why BG is making a database for the new Leaf cards.

Yeah, it was probably a nice piece of HENDERSON, that's what most of these seem to be. Letter patches. It's really sad to see that happen. If it was real, it would at the very least be in there sideways or upside down! But no, for a number of reasons, I'm 99.99% sure that it's a fake patch. Unscrupulous douches. :o

I agree with Ryan. It's definnitely fake, but probably replaced a nice name plate patch.

Nothing important!? :o What about that story I made up about the drunken night with the Henderson Brothers?

I don't really remember what all was said. Somebody said I should add that story to the item description, which made me think maybe somebody thought the auction was mine, and I wanted to reply and say "that's not mine" but never got to. Until now.

We were all the way to page 124, so something must have been said. Too old to remember what was said though.

Yeah, the Dave Henderson jersey signed by "Rickey" and fudged up on the back. I knew it wasn't yours. No Rickey collector is dumb enough to make that mistake. Also some stuff about the auction was supposed to be for charity. Since the majority of the posts were concerning a post I made, I said it wasn't important. It may have been a little bit, but there were no new purchases or life-altering information added.

Anybody else ever wonder why Rickey was never included in the Heading for the Hall or Call to the Hall sets from the early 90's? Topps did put him in one around 97, but Leaf didn't put him in some sets. I'm sure there are others as well, I'm not sure what all sets were released. I just always felt Rickey didn't get the respect I thought he deserved. Some of the players that were in those sets were good and some are in the Hall now. But I really think they dropped the ball on these sets.

I agree. I could never figure that out myself. Pacific put out numerous sets like that and never had a Henderson. If he wasnt "headed to the Hall", who was?

After looking at eBay to see what was new, I came across this.[ebay:31d1vu3c]370518442051[/ebay:31d1vu3c] I know Rickey was great, but to hit a homerun in a game for a team he didn't even play for is just amazing! Not to mention there weren't any homeruns hit by either team. Below is a message I sent to the seller. I'll see if he replies or anything.

I think you have the wrong information about this item. If you use the link below you can see Rickey was not with either team on this date (he played for the Mariners). Also, there were not even any homeruns hit by either team the date you have listed for this ticket.

Pretty sad what a few will go through to make an extra buck or two on an item.

How about this one? [ebay:nga4pabv]220890367676[/ebay:nga4pabv] Gem mint 10 Henderson Rookie? Not a PSA card, a serial number of 00001980 and the card itself is 60/40. I can't tell from the photo, but it looks like the corners are soft as well. Home made grader? Anyone here want to call him on it? I'm too much of a wuss to start something these days. Although, I would love to see close up pictures of this gem.

There are so many classy scams these days, doesn't it make collecting that much more fun?
On a side note, hit a card show last weekend, and landed my biggest haul in years. 2 autos, 1 dual GU, and 2 more SP/Base. In the New England market, thats huge!

Since I no longer have the time to upload individual photos of good individual mail days...I'll just do it all at once. Some 2011 recent pickups to share:

Red (#/36) on top(or right), Emerald (#/18) in the middle row, Sepia (#/27) on the bottom (or left). If anyone has extras of the ones I still need, let me know. I also have a 2011 Leaf Cut Signature Dual Auto with Stan Musial (#/7) coming to me in the mail. Woohoo!
