I would give the guy a break...

My last batch of eBay items that ended almost a month ago is just finishing up getting to the buyers.

The day before it ended I cot a call that said my grandpa was dying. I had to leave school and go to california for a week like 14 hours before the auctions closed. On my way back to Washington, We had to turn around and redirect to portland because of the snow storm in Eastern Washington. Two days later, I am finally making my way back to school, its a Thursday, naturally I dont get the packages out Friday with making sure i am caught up with homework. The weekend went by, I got them out on Tuesday because monday was a holiday, my ******* school "Post Office" "didnt feel like sending them out until friday because someone was sick" I am completely fed up with them now and I have started to go off campus to the real USPS Office.

quit swearing happens man, as long as he was in honest constant contact with his customers like I was, everything should be good. Was he honest and upfront, constantly updating you?

I think this is the issue. There's a difference b/w a grandfather dying and going on a vacation (or lying about going on vacation). If you're going to be on vacation, put it in the auction or email the buyers so they know what to expect. Better communication would resolve 90% of the conflicts we see.

Bingo. That is all I wanted. Not only did I not get that, I was basically told it was my fault because I waited 2 days to pay.

Honestly I think it's a little crappy that you would call someone out 12 days after you paid for an item. If he sent tomorrow you'd probably get it by Monday, March 23rd which is only 18 days after you paid. That isn't that bad, and you could give him a lower score on shipping time. If he lied to you then that sucks, but it sounds like you are being a little impatient.

And you don't think 18 days is a bit excessive?

I wish I could have customers like you. I guess you think it is ok then to wait 13 days to ship something after receiving payment in 2 days?

I just sent out some cards yesterday that ended around March 5. I've been quite busy as well, I'll probably get 0/5 on shipping time for them, but sometimes things happen.

Not really...I'd probably drop him a point or two on the shipping time.

And did you email your buyers to let them know?

You've made a ton of posts in the last few days. You clearly had the ability to communicate with your buyers (as did the member being called out in this post). Why not let them know you'll be shipping a few days late? You might get a higher feedback for it. The bigger issue here isn't shipping early/late but communication. If everyone worried as much about their communication rating as they did their shipping rating, we wouldn't have these issues.

You're that mad over about 3 weeks of delayed shipping (if he was to ship now, you'd get it within 3 weeks)??

I'd just like to see your reaction if you got scammed on a trade w/ no protection of paypal or refund whatsoever.

I don't do it myself, but I'm not going to call someone out over it. I generally wait 21 days before I even contact the seller about an item not received. Life happens. We're not all card dealers. We don't just sit around packaging and shipping cards all day long.

And again, Ebay gives you a tool to rate a seller's shipping time.

So you think it is ok to take 13 days to ship something (this is assuming he would have shipped tomorrow like he said, which is by no means a guarantee) after paying for an item in 2 days? Not only that, then when you email him through ebay, he does not respond. I had to pm him through here to get a response. Then on top of that he lies about why he did not send. Come on man, be real.

Are all paypal refunds echecks nowadays?

No not at all. If you paid from a pp balance you should get that same payment type back. If you were lied to thats not cool and should not be so easily dismissed here. if he was just delayed from everyday life, yeah give him a break. There is a big difference between the 2.

See, you are assuming that I am "okay" with this. That would be wrong. As already pointed out by others, communication is definitely the key BUT there are so many bigger things to worry about.. You called out this member and seem to be extremely angry. I just was curious to see how much you'd have overreacted if you weren't even offered a refund (or covered by paypal).

Thank you for your extremely astute observation... Go talk about you being able to pay for your auctions.

No one is too busy to log on to paypal and print a shipping address label and tape it to an envelope and place in the mailbox when heading out to work/school. Fortunately for me, I work 200 feet form a PO, so I mail everything same day/next day every time, but to say that someone is "too busy" to mail a card, give me a break.
