Harry Kalas in Hospital

Legendary Phillies announcer Harry Kalas has been taken by ambulance to a Washington area hospital after he was found passed out in the press box at Nationals Park...

That's not good. The Nats can't win, and now they are putting Hall of Famers in the hospital.

Truly one of the greats. I'll miss him on The Puppy Bowl!

Link only notes him going to the hospital, but ESPNews is reporting he has passed.

In shock here.

RIP

Although i havent gotten to hear that voice in about two years, there are still calls he's made I will never forget and I can still hear in my head every now and again. Sad day to be a phillies fan.

Hope you don't mind, but I changed that for you. I always loved any chance I got to hear Harry's voice. Got his auto through the mail a few years ago, and I mentioned in my letter that I was at the University of Iowa at the time (he got his start calling Hawkeye basketball), and he wrote me a great note about it when he responded.

Seemed like a great person in addition to fabulous broadcaster.

I'm stunned. I grew up listening to him and have been every year since the mid-70's. Watching a game will not be the same. One of the greats. RIP Harry the K.

As sad as this is and I know I will miss him very much, he lived a great life. I am glad he got to see a another championship and get to announce one(He wasn't allowed to in 80). He seemed to love everyday. I find myself right now smiling thinking of the great memories from him. Don't get me wrong, I am upset that he died. I just can't help but think about all these great memories.

A very sad day for the sport. Listening to him makes me wish the announcers for my team were half as good. Rest in peace, Mr. K.

The world has lost a very gentle and kind man....
He will be missed by ALL of baseball not just the Phillies.
