****, it is hard being a fan of this team when things like this happen. This kind of punch in the gut is more brutal than the joy of any win.I just want to throw up now. Why, why, why?

Would the OP or a Mod mind correcting the spelling of his name in this thread's title? Thanks.

3rd Cardinals player in 12 years to die while actively on the team (Kile & Hancock). That's so harsh. As a Cardinals fan I feel sick to my stomach. Far too young with a bright future ahead. Thoughts go out to both families involved as well as Cardinals Nation...

so it's too early to know if it was self-caused wreck?

I'm really surprised to hear Taveras in the news instead of Puig, who I know has had some reports of wreckless driving while in the collecting eye.

Very sad news. 22 years old and a huge future in front of him. If you are say 10 years or more older just think of the amount of things you have done (maybe you got married, had kids, broguth a house etc). It is always so strange and tragic to hear of anyone dying so young because in that short amount of time, you really have not lived much of your life like we all expect. Love out to his family.

This is so sad.

I work Midnights and my wife came in and woke me up a few minutes early, which she never does, so I hadn't had a chance to look at my phone.

She said she had some sad news, that Oscar Tavaras had died in a car accident. My initial response was asking her if she was serious. She said she was, and I was like "the baseball player?" It was a huge punch in the gut.

Something I'm still trying to wrap my head around here at work.

So sad. So much potential.

This was shocking to me, and my heart goes out to Cardinals Nation and to friends and family of Oscar Taveras.

RIP Oscar Taveras - too young and talented to go so soon.

What sad news. I was really looking forward to seeing how his playing career would pan out. :(

Terrible news.

I'm no prospector, but he didn't seem to have a ceiling on his potential.

RIP and best wishes to his friends and Family...
