It looks like This Week in Baseball is gone this season. The MLB Player Poll is the new show replacing TWIB.

My dad turned me onto TWIB over 20 years ago, when Mel Allen was still host. The best weekly baseball show ever, TWIB will be missed.

If there was a thread on this already sorry.

If you didnt know what TWIB was when you clicked this thread, shame on you
;)

I watched it Saturday mornings in the mid 1980s, always hoping they'd focus on my Cubs. Good times.

Funny you should post this today, as it was 16 years ago that Mel Allen passed away.

Now raise your hand if you remember the Johnny Bench commercials for Krylon spray paint. "No runs, no drips, no errors."

To bad MLB network doesn't run it. I think Prime Nine can cough a few of their time slots. (nothing wrong with prime nine however)

I downloaded the theme music from ITunes last year. Can't remember the name of the song right now. But it's on there for all the TWIB fans.

I remember as a kid always hoping they would show yankee players during the closing credits.

Good call on the Bench commercials. The opening music is the theme from Jackpot I posted. I forget the closing music's name.

Sad day indeed.

For those of us that grew up in the days when there was no internet, TWIB was something to look forward to.

That's is sad news indeed. Form those of us out in the small towns with no "cable TV" twib was the only chance you had to see footage of far away players and teams from another league. I always think of the closing credits awesome music playing to a slow motion shot of Will the Thrill's sweet swing

I've noticed that player poll show, but didn't realize it was taking over for twib.

I taped them every week and my favorite one was when they did the Ken Griffey Jr. one with MC Hammer's song can't touch this.....Ken Griffey hits the ball so far...makes me say oh my Lord......anybody remember that one? The other was when Mattingly hit home runs in 8 straight games and they had Dale Long on- the guy that Mattingly tied for the record.
