All The Hype

I just recently made a purchase on eBay of a card that from the gang scan looks like it could be in less than mint condition...but if it shows up in my mailbox without any flaws, then I got a complete steal on the card. Didn't have time to ask for a better scan or better description of its condition, but I figured it was worth the risk.
We've all had opportunities to take a chance on a 0-feedback seller, or jump on a card that is poorly (or not at all) scanned, or bid on a card with a sketchy description. Why would you take this risk? Often because if you do take the chance, you can get some absolute steals on the auctions.
So the question is: Approximately what percentage of the times you have bid on a sketchy auction has the seller come through and delivered you a great looking card? And have you been able to get good prices out of these auctions (because a lot of people aren't willing to take the risk)?
