Screwing with the Phillies rotation plans on their way to Colorado. With Hamels also on his way to be with his wife and new baby, the series should be very interesting.
Though the x-rays came back negative, Happ’s status for the rest of the series is uncertain. Listening to Manuel talk about his most consistent starter made it sound as if he had already scratched Happ’s name off the list to start in Game 3. The strange part is that Manuel says Happ would have remained in consideration to start on Saturday even if he had pitched more than one inning on Thursday—which was the plan.
“He got hit right below the knee and he got hit pretty good,” Manuel said of Happ. “He was trying to stay out there, but he wasn’t able to pitch. When he got up on the mound to throw, his back leg was shaking and when he was landing he had a hard time staying on his feet.”
