Because then they couldn't make Bowman Chrome and Bowman WITH Chrome

Yeah they could, why can't Bryant be in BCDP, APPEL be in chrome, and Gray be in Bowman/chrome? Why is that they always sacrifice BCDP when it comes to the checklist? I just don't get it.

Every bit of value you put in BDP comes out of B /w C. BDP is better than B /w C 9 times out of 10 anyways. Why juice up a product that is already going to sell like gangbusters and weaken one that may or may not?

Not exactly an announcement, but Topps has just confirmed D.J. Peterson. If you recall, Peterson himself tweeted a pic of his own cards (including his Super) in the OP some time ago.

Why did they create bowman w/chrome in the first place and water down Bowman Chrome/BCDP? At some point, a product should come out and be sooo good, that the price actually goes up after release! Of the last 100 products that have come out amongst all 4 major sports, how many were selling for more than direct cost a week after release? MAYBE 4-5? I guess my logic of having the best players from the DRAFT in THE DRAFT product is lost on some.

I'm with you...Bowman w/ Chrome and Bowman Chrome should be saved for international signees and the prospects that come from rounds 3 and beyond who turn out to be better than expected (guys like CJ Edwards who was a 48th round pick and was named MiLB pitcher of the year).

More announcements:

1) Topps has confirmed Rob Kaminsky, whose pic I linked earlier (Kaminsky's Instagram).
2) Hunter Dozier added. :) I'd like to see them get Sean Manaea as well.

So it looks like 22 autos as of now. Really hoping they don't push it past 30, but not exactly holding my breath that it happens based on their recent releases that they even keep it below 40

2012 BDP: 40
2011 BDP: 34
2010 BDP: 32

Woo Hoo! But that is damn awful airbrushing.

Topps' photoshopping of Yankees logos is horrible.

Look how small the logo is on Ty Hensley's hat. Look at how HUGE it is on Pat Venditte's bowman card.

Some of the stuff they pull off in photoshop, and nearly every Yankees card looks like crap.

If the product is so good that the price goes up after release Topps made a mistake. I'm not saying it's great for the hobby or the product that they push top picks to Bowman w/ Chrome, but it's obvious why it's good for Topps.
