Just a few small pick-ups from the Boston show this past weekend:

phils.jpg

The Cosart/Gillies is a print run of only 19 copies.
The Lieberthal was 3 bucks, and I was like what the hey, why not get a Lieberthal cert. for the price of shipping.
The Colbert was the best hit from my terrible box of Topps Chrome.

I like that GIllies/Cosart card. Had lunch with him a few weeks ago; nice kid. Hope he does well.

Yeah, it was 10 bucks, so I figured it was worth it. And I assume you were talking about Cosart? If so I have high hopes for him, I just hope that Gillies can bounce back, so it's not one of those awful duals with one good player/ one irrelevant player.

Actually, Gillies. Cosart, from what I've heard, has got the Nuke LaLoosh deal... Million dollar arm, 10 cent head...

I'm going to join the fray here.

I'm not so much a prospect guy right now but I enjoy watching the posts in this thread. I like the current/HOF players in my sig, and I have fairly specific collecting parameters around each of my player collections. Right now, I have everything scanned (except for what's in my COMC account) except for the massive collections I have of Schmidt (828) and Carlton (427). Scanning those is a future project. Feel free to check out my bucket if you want to peruse my collections.

Here are my most recent 3....

Chase Utley - 2008 SPx Winning Materials Triple Limited Patch #/15

Chase Utley - 2007 Upper Deck Premier Patches Dual Gold #/32

Ryan Howard - 2010 Bowman Platinum Relic Autographs AU/Patch Green Refractor #/199 ($80)

I just picked up my first orange and second gold, both gems.

I have not even been paying attention to the non-auto's. If he starts moving up the charts, his auto's will make good scratch.

I assume you got them from Philip...

I was talking with that seller regarding the red at $115. I just couldn't pull the trigger on a non-auto for that much when he has so much auto'ed stuff...

and I have so much auto'ed stuff...

:)

Just curious, what was your best offer on the card? I knew he was lying to me. He told me he had 2 offers at $100 and 1 offer at $110. Then emailed me just prior to buying it that a guy from Florida offered $115. I was set to pay it either way beng the first one that sold on ebay went for around the same price. Only 3 left to get...

He told me the same thing. I did some comparisons in my head, I knew that golds were about 30 and oranges about $50... to me, that means Reds should be about $100... I knew that gold sterling AUTOS were about $45-50 and blacks /25 were a little higher in the $75 range.

THere is a mystique to the red refractor, and almost any Phillie looks good with that red border... so I wanted to go no higher than $100, but when he told me he'd accept $115 (in email) I BO'ed him $112.50 (plus $2.50 shipping). I was surprised to see that my offer wasn't accepted. I was sort of relieved... I have a LOT of Biddle already (see my previous thread).... and I hate the fact that I'm putting so many eggs in this basket.

I don't mind the price I paid. I figured, now or one of the last 3 at probably a higher price. Plus the centering is perfect, and according to him, the edges, surface and corners are perfect also. So I'll be shipping it in to BGS along with my Oranges some day in the near future.

Where did you pick them up at?? Not on ebay, I haven't seen an Orange on ebay in months. What #/25 is it?? I'm trying to keep track of them.
