I just picked up my first orange and second gold, both gems.

I have not even been paying attention to the non-auto's. If he starts moving up the charts, his auto's will make good scratch.

I assume you got them from Philip...

I was talking with that seller regarding the red at $115. I just couldn't pull the trigger on a non-auto for that much when he has so much auto'ed stuff...

and I have so much auto'ed stuff...

:)

I did, also bought 4 gem colvin elites so i may be done on him for a bit...

Do you mind me asking what you paid? For each?[/quote:quxlj4y9]

Paid a little over 100 for them...

Just curious, what was your best offer on the card? I knew he was lying to me. He told me he had 2 offers at $100 and 1 offer at $110. Then emailed me just prior to buying it that a guy from Florida offered $115. I was set to pay it either way beng the first one that sold on ebay went for around the same price. Only 3 left to get...

He told me the same thing. I did some comparisons in my head, I knew that golds were about 30 and oranges about $50... to me, that means Reds should be about $100... I knew that gold sterling AUTOS were about $45-50 and blacks /25 were a little higher in the $75 range.

THere is a mystique to the red refractor, and almost any Phillie looks good with that red border... so I wanted to go no higher than $100, but when he told me he'd accept $115 (in email) I BO'ed him $112.50 (plus $2.50 shipping). I was surprised to see that my offer wasn't accepted. I was sort of relieved... I have a LOT of Biddle already (see my previous thread).... and I hate the fact that I'm putting so many eggs in this basket.

I don't mind the price I paid. I figured, now or one of the last 3 at probably a higher price. Plus the centering is perfect, and according to him, the edges, surface and corners are perfect also. So I'll be shipping it in to BGS along with my Oranges some day in the near future.

If I didn't already have literally 50 Bow Sterling autos, 3 gold sterling, 1 black sterling, a 1/1 auto plate sterling, 15+ elite autos of differing #s, 2 oranges, 2 golds, a plate, and a bunch of blues/refractors, I would have had no problem with $115. But I have a LOT of $ in JEsse already.

BTW, I noticed your rainbow below... Vance is an interesting guy.

As gems?

Not bad.

Basically, a $30 premium on each one off of raw...

Yeah, Phil always does a great job at pricing. Jim is the same way.

That's pretty awesome. I'm hoping to see Blanton kick another 7 runs in his next start so the Phillies can finally put him in the pen where he belongs. Then bring up Worley and put him in the 5 spot. Worley has better movement on his pitches.

Tonights minor league dealings...

Worley with a tough luck loss blowing it in the 7th, giving up 3 runs in six innings in AAA.
Trevor May got rocked for Clearwater, pitching 4 and giving up 6 runs...

SAvery still batting over .600, RIzzotti and Castro still over .400...

Yeah, Worley probably was tired in the 7th. Last time he pitched was a week before.

Won't buy into the Savery hype.

2009 Gulf Coast League DOMINGO SANTANA 1st Jersey Ever.

I'll have it signed when he gets to Clearwater later this year.

(Then again, at 2-18 in Lakewood, it may not be until next year).

I have a feeling Domingo will never be able to hit anything but a fastball. Way to much hype based on his short season stats 2 years ago.

He went 2-5 yesterday in Lakewood. Whoo hoo!

I have a history of buying prospects jerses... I bought Chase Utley's Batavia Muckdogs jersey when he was just coming up in the majors -- directly from the team and got him to autograph it. Paid $50 plus spring training game ticket cost, sold it for about $1200 years ago. At the same time I bought former prospect Travis Chaman's jersey. Ironically, he shared it (over two years) with Ryan Madson, so I wound up selling Madson's Muckdogs jersey for a few hundred.

It's fun, and neat to have an old jersey. Unfortunately today, minor league teams know what they have and typically don't let them go cheap...
