It's official the rockets are rebuilding and going with the youth movement and the NBA is going to have some ridiculously talented teams in San Antonio the Lakers Celtics Cavs and Magic.

WOOOOOOW

The Lakers are losing Ariza, but Ron Artest is a big time upgrade over him. Overjoyed is the word that can best describe my mood.

I just hope Artest and Kobe dont get along or something. Really the only chance the rest of the West has. As a Nuggets fan this hurts man!

I keep telling everyone they are friends lol, the playoff was the first scuffle, if you can call it that, that the two have ever had versus each other. I think it was Ron trying to get in his head. Now Ron is on the same team, what a amazing Upgrade over Ariza, now Odom just needs to Resign and we need to find a veteran Point Guard in case fisher retires.

yeah i can see that i got a pretty good kick out of watching those two mess with each other in that series. Hopefully someone else can sign Odom! I dont see that happening though

Ya, Artest took the money that he Lakers were offering Ariza(ariza was said to be angry with the offer), now the Lakers have the rest left for Odom. Going to be a great 6 man rotation.

This made my day......wow, now the Lakers can focus on Odom and resign Shannon Brown as well......that way you groom Brown and Farmar to replace Fisher. I was oin the studio today with Kareem and he said he will be working with Bynum the entire offseason, he wants Bynum to have a go to move (my gut tells me he will have a nice jump hook come next season).

I don't think anyone thought the Lakers could trade Ariza for Artest(basically what happened). I loved Ariza, but Artest is a for sure upgrade and a bigger offensive weapon.

While I DO agree Artest is an upgrade over Ariza skill wise, Artest has a real problem with getting along.Just for a quick reflection let's look at the series with LA.He could't control his emotions. They got the better of him at the time when they should't have the most.I don't like this move by the Lakers.I very well could end up being wrong and as a Lakers fan I hope Artest does prove me wrong but only time will tell.

Actually those technicals that he got were bogus, I remember everyone asking why he was getting those called against him from TNT/ESPN/FOX Sports... He played a good series emotion wise, he shot pretty terrible though.

I will agree with you that the tech's were not needed but he shouldn't have put himself in the situation to get them.He has to control that urge, which he couldn't/didn't.Even when so much was on the line.He came off as childish.I really do hope it works out in LA for him.Maybe Phil can teach something. He did coach Rodman afterall.Artest in a wedding dress anyone? :D

I really don't like this move the more I think about it...

I collect Artest (not a super colelctor or anything, just casual), and his cards could go up since he's in LA. I guess I'll just have to open up my wallet a little more if I see something.

BTW - His new rap album drops in September!

:( :x  Damn!!!!!! Good pick up for the Lakers. Although they WILL NOT win 70 games, they have made thier team better from a defensive Stand point. Good Day for LA fans :| .

I'm actaully happy that Ariza is no longer a Laker, it took him being on the Lakers for me to cheer them.
I cheer the Rockets because of McGrady and now i have a second reason.
Ariza gets the opportunity to play with his favorite player in McGrady.
This a great defensive presence for the rockets, Ron is good but Ariza is younger with more room to improve.
Thanks you Ariza i am back to not cheering the Lakers :D.

have fun cheering for a losing team, i personally would hate for my favorite player to go to a team were everybody will forget his name, at least with the lakers he made the highlight reels with the rockets he wont
