My grandparents used to live next door to him in NJ back in the 80's and 90's and once he gave them an autographed ball for me and my brother.
He heard that we visited while he was on a road trip and that we were sad that we had missed him.

Get better Mr. Darling!

The good news is his doctor says it’s totally treatable and he should be back in the broadcaster’s booth in a month or two.

He went to my high school and was close friends with my next door neighbor (he is about 10 years older than me). We was always around when I was young and was a good guy. I hope he beats it.
