Ron Santo Triple Threads Rainbow 1/1 new scan added 3/15

Alright, I have determined that only 3 white whale printing plates exist for the 2010 Triple Threads- the yellow, black, and blue. No other color has surfaced for any player on ebay.

For Ron Santo Topps made 3 different card versions: 262, 263, and 264.

For each number Topps made a red version numbered to 18, a gold version numbered to 9, a sapphire version numbered to 3, a platinum version 1 of 1, a wood version 1 of 1, and 3 white whale printing plates each a 1 of 1.

This makes a total of 8 of each card. I know own the following:

262- red, gold, sapphire, platinum, 3 white whale printing plates (missing the wood version)
263- red, gold, sapphire, platinum, wood, 2 white whale printing plates (missing yellow printing plate version)
264- red, gold, platinum, wood, 1 white whale printing plate (missing sapphire and 2 white whale printing plates)

So I have tracked down 19 of the 24 versions. I know that member archiebunkerjr has 1 of the missing plates and will not respond to my pm's so maybe someone will talk him into selling it to me at some point.

There should be 4 white whales since they are plates.

That sucks. I was hoping I was done with that version and on to the other 2 versions that Santo has within that set. Oh well, the wait continues for the other 2 to popup on ebay.

Technically, yes, there should be 4 plates used and therefore 4 different versions of each White Whale. However, I've only ever seen 2 versions of each White Whale which leads me to believe you have the complete rainbow.

I hope you are right. Santo has the 2 other versions that I am trying to track down. Nice work on those Schillings. I like the multi-colored look.

Here are the other versions that I have been able to track down.

I am hopeful the rest of the versions eventually surface on ebay or on these boards. I know of 1 white whale that is being held hostage by a fellow board member. Hopefully he will part with it at some point.

Not 100% certain, but I searched completed items on ebay and there are only 2 versions of the white whale plates so I would assume it is true. Good luck with your search.

Thanks and I would really appreciate board members keeping their eyes out at shows for any of the Santo Triple Threads cards that I do not have. Maybe the board member who has a white whale Santo that I need will be willing to sell it?????????

Well unfortunately I discovered that there are most likely 4 different white whale plates made this year as I this arrived in the mail today with its yellow coating on it I was hoping for just 2 of each kind but oh well the quest continues.
