Im pumped. Gonna be interesting to see how the rest of the team around him shapes up. KG/Pierce/Allen probably have no more than 3 years left.

Good contract for both sides. When Garnett was injured last year Rondo really stepped up

you have to look at the fact that the Celtics have a good center and point guard locked up for a few years. The way the big three have their contracts structured they end one after another, so each year the Celtics could be players in the race for the big free agent. Also, there has been speculation of Pierce not taking the option remaining on his contract and instead signing an extension for less money so the team can compete for the rest of his career. I think the team is ready to win now but also preparing for the end of the Pierce/Garnett/Allen era.

Yea, I am not worried. I don't know the details of Perkins' contract but as you said the big three don't all end at once. My only "concern" is that they will miss out on the 2010 FA class.

I think they were going to miss out on the 2010 free agent class either way. There are so many teams with cap space that have tanked a couple years just to be able to make a splash this year that I see some inflated contracts coming. Just think of Rondo as their 2010 signing. They'll still have the MLE, which brought in Sheed this year.

Yea, I've understood they weren't going to be big players in the 2010 FA class since they got KG and Allen. My point was more who are they going to get to fill in for the big three, but right now, its not the big of a deal. If they can squeeze another title out of KG/Allen/Pierce it will be a huge success for Ainge. One title made both deals make sense, any more makes the deals unbelievable successes
