Since hockey players only become eligible for rookie cards after they have suited up for a game, it is useful to keep track of those guys who might be popping up on cardboard in the 09/10 season.

I've started a list of these players on my blog, and I'd appreciate any help you guys can offer in keeping this updated. Especially tricky to track are the backup goalies - they don't actually have to play, just dress.

I have both the holdovers from last season, and the guys who suited up this year for the first time.

Calgary and Pittsburgh look good right now, ill keep my ears open on others. So a goalie just has to sit on the bench for a game to be eligible for a RC? If so, i sure hope Calgary calls up Leland Irving for a little NHL experience, so he could get a RC while UD still has the license. I really want an Upper Deck Leland Irving RC. Calgary is crazy though, they have no one after Miikka Kipprusoff. Nothing. nobody, curtis. Nada, mcelhinney, zilch, zeeeeeerrrrrro.

btw ive been checking your blog quite regularly, keep up the good work! :)
