I think it was either Heyman or Stark who tweeted this yesterday, but that they wanted BOTH Montero and Banuelos for Danks.

Are the yanks so desperate that they would trade their top hitting prospect AND a lefty with a high ceiling for a #3 starter? Personally I think someone's just trying to make headlines.

Now its John Danks and Matt Thornton for Jesus Montero, Manny Banuelos, and D.J. Mitchell.

I was just about to say Yanks might give up ONE of Banuelos or Montero for Thornton and Danks, but I can't see them both being traded.

The Yankees only goal is to win the World Series, and I'm not sure Danks helps them much in that regard. In a playoff series, there's a decent chance he'll be the inferior pitcher in any matchup. Thornton is a bit more helpful, as he's an excellent left set up man who would make the Yankees bullpen absolutely insanely filthy, particularly if Soriano has a bounce back year.

Not a rumor....

Jim Bowden of ESPN and SiriusXM reports that the Dodgers have reached agreement with Aaron Harang.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal heard earlier that the two sides were "making progress," and now it appears that a deal has been stamped. Harang, 33, registered a quality 3.64 ERA and 1.37 WHIP this past season as a member of the Padres' rotation. Dodger Stadium isn't as spacious as PETCO Park, but the right-hander should still have success in his new home.

if they trade both for danks, might as well call themselves dankyees.

those two kids are both packaged, they need a #1 or #1A starter back

Riiiight. Montero and Banuelos weren't even bundled for Cliff Lee or Roy Halladay.

Banuelos could probably be a more serviceable pitcher for the Yankees next year than Danks.

And what makes Danks so good? A 4.33 ERA in the AL Central?

This means more comp picks for the Padres, right? Harang was good but we have plenty of young pitchers. Wouldn't be surprised if harang did what garland did last year after he left the padres.

The rumor around the internet that I'm just making up is guaranteeing that the M's will sign Prince Fielder and then immediately traded Justin Smoak along with an OF for either a OF w/ pop or a 3B.

It will happen. Just watch.

C.J. Wilson Has Six-Year Offer

By Tim Dierkes [December 5 at 3:37pm CST]

Free agent lefty C.J. Wilson has a six-year offer in hand from a team other than the Rangers, reports Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The Rangers, Angels, Marlins, Nationals, and a mystery team are currently in the mix. Wilson hopes to sign this week, but won't sign with a team just because it offered six years. Agent Bob Garber will meet with the Rangers tonight or Tuesday morning.

Wilson and Roy Oswalt are represented by Garber, who said, "I have the two best clients out there," C.J. is comfortable with the process and confident with how things have been going. Roy basically said, 'Take car of C.J. I'll wait in the wings. Once C.J. and [Mark] Buehrle have signed, my market will open up."
