This has really become more of a "Cards drawn by Tempy Moore" thread.

On the positive end of things, most of the cards I've seen drawn by that Jay Pangan guy look fantastic.

As a sketch collector... DAMN those are bad! lol

Seriously, give Jim Kyle or Sean Pence a call BG. Both are great guys and do insane work!

She prefers football sketches, so she doesn't have to deal with the ears just puts them all in a helmet.

Her other work is amazing. Maybe she is a...get what you pay for... artist. You pay her a good price you get good work. Maybe the overall amount Leaf paid was good... but the individual piece price isnt that much so she half assed the sketches to get them done. Or she is a Pittsburgh fan so she does those well and she doesnt do any other team the same.

Not all of her work is terrible. If I were BG, I'd be very interested in why her commissioned work showed such lack of effort. I understand having to do many quickly - but you're getting paid for your quality of work... and every last one is complete garbage.

I doubt BG really cares (no matter if he states otherwise). He knows nobody is buying BoB for the sketches/leaf autos.

This is gold. Pure gold. My favorite is Gary Carter's jerry curl. They all look like a mix of the player they're supposed to be and a Neanderthal.

Hey, now the cardboard set has become art critics.

Go to your local art museum, I can assure you there is lots of stuff there you can duplicate. she's an artist, sometimes they do what they want to and dont really care if you like it or not.

There really is a difference between artistic license and being lazy on a batch job. Granted, she has some issues with perspective in some pieces - she actually is capable of REALLY good work. It doesn't take an art critic to see that she didn't pu the same effort into these sketches.

In your opinion. Unless she has indicated it was a rush job and she butchered some.

are you serious Tim?

Some of these are undefendable. They look like a child drew them while waiting for the bus.

She obviously has talent, but it's clear that she didn't do her best work with 90% of this set.

When I posted my constructive criticism in the other thread, I simply stated that BG should look elsewhere for sketch artists. Keep Pangan and Kevin John, but get on Scoundrel Art, there are tons of great sketch artists who do amazing work for Topps, UD, Cryptozoic, and Breygent. Imagine some of that artwork brought to baseball? To Phillyfan, there is no excuse for the level of artwork that she did here. Look at her website, she has done some great work, but this project was probably too much for her to handle. I am no art critic, but I am a sketch card collector, so I do know a few things about this. I would also suggest more color sketches. There are products in the non sports market that advertise one full color sketch per box because that is what collectors want. Look on ebay, you will see that color sketches bring a premium, with the price tag on these packs, I would consider those premium packs, and more effort probably should have been put into her cards.
