And why would they not want to sign Lee? What other options are there?

If the Yankees Trade Montero for Greinke I am going to be #^$%@!

Grienke is more of a headcase and will do worse in New York than Burnett.

Do you think Grienke would accept the trade?

As far as I know, his no trade is basically the opposite of everyone else's.....it's set up to block trades to NY, Boston and a few other big market teams due to his issues.

If he specifically set that up..... no matter how good the team is and no matter how much money he's offered, I'm not sure he'd value that over his mental well-being.

Once again, this poster has a history this offseason of posting threads like this. It could happen, but it has not yet. As far as Greinke's no trade clause, http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=j ... tove113010

Yeah, a week after saying he woudn't go to any of these teams because of his stress he came out and said he is open to any team.

That puts lots of confidence into a team trading for you.

life will go on without him. and its just my opinion that giving him 7 years is a huge mistake.

I agree with not liking the 7 years. But adding Lee and taking him away from Texas gives a huge advantage for the Yankees against Texas and against Boston's lefty laiden lineup. They really cannot go through this offseason without picking up at least one very solid pitcher.

The OP also made a thread about Carl Crawford signing with the Angels.

As a Dodgers fan I'll say it like I said it before last season, Martin is an average catcher defensively, and can't run or hit like he did for a few good years. Over 09/10, he hit .249 and a whopping .330ish slugging % (44 total XBH, 12 HR, in 840 ABs).
All this for 5.05 million last year, looking for a raise this year after coming off a busted hip. I know he was hurt last year, but he wasn't doing a whole lot before he got hurt anyway. I guess what I'm saying is meh to whoever he signs with.

This just in:

Carl Crawford slips on bathroom floor and tears his ACL.

The Boston Globe just reported it.

I thought it was the AP that did, and if it says AP it has to be true.
