I would call that irrelevant. Left field is not difficult for average athletes, certianly players with good baseball skills can move from 3b to lf with few problems.

I only saw Braun in games against the Pirates. In my opinion, he will be fine long-term in left. He is better than Adam Dunn or Manny right now. His route running was poor, but that is expected in his first year. He has a decent arm and catches the balls he gets to. With time and experience he should be fine. He is certainly acceptable in left right now given his offensive production.
