Ryan Howard is rehabbing 10 mins fromX
my house with Low A Blueclaws.

Here is what i got from Game 1 & 2 & today

Game 1:

He was running with black along 1st base line. He did not take my blue :(

Game 2- i had a jersey but decided to not bring it in because i would have better shot with card if he signed along the line again. Boy did i screw up. He ended up signing next to dugout. i was the 4th person he signed for. Easily could have gotten jersey but opted for the card.

Found out that he signed 25-30 graphs after he left stadium while waiting for limo.

Today i figured to take 1 more crack at getting the big piece done.

This afternoon outside players entrance:
There was 4 people including myself
Me, 16 year old kid with glasses,
two 5 year old little boys accompanied by their dad

Howard gets out of towncar,
i ask if he can sign a couple,
he continues to walk looking like he has no intention of stopping to sign.

Howard: " I gotta get inside to stretch guys"

Me: Ry , please bro? Ive been dying
to get this jersey signed. Theres only
4 of us. Please Ry

Howard slows down and i start to hand him my piece

Howard : (while signing my item)
" guys im here to rehab and get better, not to sign autographs everyday, you guys gotta respect that" . ( it took him more time to explain why he cant sign then it did signing the 3 auto's he ended up doing)

He continues to walk but stops to sign the 16 year old kids ball .
Howard signs the kids ball then says he has to go and starts walking.

The father tells his two 5 year old kids to run up to him.
Howard stops
Howard then tells the two little boys
"i got you guys last night"

Boys' father - " you only signed for
1 of them"

Howard signs for only 1 of the boys then goes inside clubhouse.

After some pleading i end up with this.

I don't see any problem with trying to get an item signed as long as he's not infringing on privacy... but I couldn't find it in myself to beg a guy in front of 5 year old kids. Heck, I don't think I'd beg if it were just me and him.

Technically, he was refusing all of you because he recognized you... you just happen to keep pushing.
It's a cool item, and I'd love to have something signed in person by him. Don't get the opportunity much in the baseball barren hell hole known as Louisiana.

Shame on you for begging like a 5yr old....This post just shows everything that is wrong with adults and IP auto's....You beg the guy, and score some ink on your jesey, and the kid is left hanging....display the fruits of your pathetic labors proudly

roll all the eyes you want.

he did not recognize me. he flat out didnt want
to donate 1 minute and 30 seconds to sign for 4 people.
if a jerk for expecting that then so be it.

because i want a jersey signed??

i dont wear the jersey. might as well
get it signed rather then it not serving
a purpose.
Getting it signed serves a purpose of increasing its value. The main issue is after getting 2 free autographs already you were more concerned with getting your 3rd instead of a child's first. Its a nice jersey, nice auto too. Atleast you used the term bro, and not holmes.

Could you imagine how happy those kids would have been had he seen that Howard didn't sign much for them and gave them the jersey. He would have been their hero.

You forget how this hobby works. The dad was probably just using the kids to get items signed so he could post them on eBay and make a few bucks.

"This post just shows everything that is wrong with adults and IP auto's"

Are you kidding me? You have actually gotten IP autos yourself, right? Assuming you have done IP autos before, you know this is not the problem with adults and IP autos-the OP doesn't sell stuff, he has a great collection. If I was an athlete, I would sure love signing for kids-but now signing for kids is usually just signing stuff they are getting for their dad. It's sad, but it's reality. If I was Ryan Howard, I would want to sign for people who keep it-whether it's a 4 year old, 17 year old, or a 50 year old.

You are completely wrong with the accusation towards the OP.

are we all greedy, hell ill admit it.
but the 16 year old kid said he hadnt gotten him yet.
im not trying to be a good guy, but if i didnt get
him to stop the kid behind me wouldnt have gotten him.
howard signed for the 1 5 year old who supposedly
hadnt gotten him yet whether his dad was telling the truth.
the 16 year old kid had glasses and was quiet. you have to be
persistent and relentless when you do this stuff.
its not for the shy timid kind of folk.so im sorry for
not wanting to go home empty handed. Like i said
there was 4 people there for him. regardless who got him
previously it took him less than 2 minutes to sign
3 graphs. Sorry if i ask a 200$ million dollar
player for 15 seconds of his time regardless if
i got him before. Am i greedy ? dam right,
but i wouldnt have accumulated all the IP
autos i got if i had been the shy quiet type
who always takes no for an answer.
