edit: I don't think I'll be doing this...not going to have the money for the balls. Sorry.

If I were to land some, would anyone want one?
Official Rawlings MLB baseballs with cube...
$45 shipped (or decent offer)
Testing the waters to see if it would be worth my time and money.
I'm going to get one for myself and my son, so I figured I'd offer.

PM and let me know if you're interested.
Here are completed eBay auctions/sales.

Am I an a-hole for offering this?

He is a great signer if you're able to catch the TN Smokies. He'll do 2 or 3 items per and adds HOF05 to most things if you're able to get him at the right time.

Making money off Sandberg signing for free ::facepalm:: ::facepalm::
Who said it wasn't a private signing or something like that? ::facepalm::

Plus it's win-win for us. Sandberg would cost what, $60-$70 at a private signing that most of us wouldn't be able to get to? He has a distinct advantage in that he can attain these autos in person for us, i.e. he's providing us a service. I'm all for it.

+1 If Sandberg was a Yankee, I'd be all over this offer.

It's not a private signing. Sandberg sign for FREE about 20 minutes or so before every game he manages. This is where he will get the autos.

It just rubs me the wrong way that someone would take advantage of Sandberg's willingness to sign for FREE to make some money. Oh well. To each his own.

So. Are you attempting to sell IPs from the field?
I like you a lot Mattingly, but it is pretty shady to load up on OMLBs to take to him knowing he signs for free then turning for a profit. I remember the big stinks that came up about people stocking up free IP items and selling them on eBay.

Eh, $45 shipped doesn't leave much room for profit assuming around $15 for ball and cube, tickets for 2, parking, gas, food, shipping. Not a huge deal, and I'm usually against selling IPs.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a big deal, but imagine what other people are thinking with one person grabbing so many free autos on OMLBs at the game.

Then imagine if it weren't a board member and someone here had photos of it and brought up how he couldn't believe someone were doing that...

It is a nice gesture, though.

I sent Sandberg a ball TTM and got nothing. I see it as a member doing a favor for those of us who cant get to see him IP. He's not selling them on eBay he is offering to help anyone on the boards who wants one. He is getting paid for his effort. I have seen guys offering to go to auto shows and charging for the gas, parking, admission, baseball and auto ticket price (for a show they were going to anyway). That I think is bad.

I dont see a problem with Sandberg.
