I think the kid has some sick, sick stuff. If he can get his control under order I see him being an easy #2 starter.

I think he is a great young pitcher and is a future mid rotation starter (#2/3).

Plus:
-Awesome K/9
-Doesn't give up many hits
-Hasn;t let up more than 3 runs in any start in the bigs

Minus:
-Needs to cut down on walks just a bit (But a lot of young pitchers have this problem, and he will walk less once he gains more experience)

Blue Jays should be happy that they have a staff of great young arms on their team

if halladay gets dealt he has a possibility to be a #2 or maybe even a #1 starter for that manner
Romero > Rzep

#2 ain't bad though.. ;)

shame he plays for the Jays, if he was a Yankeee there would be a thread here every day on him

With that said I bought 20 chrome and 2 ref for 7 dlvd two weeks ago, I have been on him for awhile.

He's only a two starter by default, not by talent. If Halladay gets moved, Romero is the ace and Rzepczynski is the #2.

Romero has really struggled lately.

I've been a fan of Zep since 07 when he was drafted. He was a beast in Short season and I'm glad to see him doing well in the Majors. The Blue Jays started him off slow, but they couldn't hold him back anymore.

He could easily be a #1 if he cuts the walks in half.

Romero has been lucky to get wins recently having allowed 18 runs in his past 15 2/3 innings.....nice when your team scores 25.

Besides strikeouts, Romero and Begesen's stats are nearly identical. Would you stop the hating already? They're not the only two pitchers in the league.

This is the second message you have mentioned Bergesen, actually no one in this thread has mentioned his name but you. We are comparing Rzep (as I call him) and Romero. I simply said he would be the #1 if he cuts down the walks.

What is your problem?
