Lehigh Valley @ Toledo 5/12: Sandberg and Brown (full signature!)
I wasn't even supposed to go to this game, but my high school baseball game was rained out and thankfully I could go to a game this series to try to get Sandberg and Brown.
I got a pretty good spot to stand and wait for Sandberg. He came out about a half and hour before the game and he sat on the bench for a good 5-10 minutes. He signed all three days before, and someone said that he only signs 3/4 days, so I didn't think he was going to come back. He did and signed to the left of the dugout and everyone lined up and knocked out everyone. He signed for about 10-15 minutes until the national anthem. When he comes out of the clubhouse, say his name one time or none at all. He knows that everyone wants his autograph, and if you keep shouting his name you'll tick him off. He remembers the people from DAYS before. Sandberg recognized a kid who got his autograph Monday and called him out. It was pretty funny because he said "nice try with the sunglasses." He side paneled the ball.
Ryne Sandberg: 1/1 SS OMLB w/ HOF inscripition.."This is going into your room, right?" 1/1 SS OMLB w/ HOF inscription (help)..."Who is this for?" "My son..." "What's his name?"
After I got Sandberg, I just needed Brown. I went to the other side of the dugout because Brown was not playing the game that day and he was sitting closer to the other side. When the national anthem was over, he came right over. He was pretty nice. He even gave me (I think) a full signature.. Is his signature changing (or did it already change.. I'm probably too late)?
Dominic Brown: 1/1 SS OMLB; 1/1 (help)
Sandberg was tossed in the first inning.
Picture of him signing per Toledo Blade..
Comparisons w/ one I got in a trade and the one I got yesterday.
