Good morning. Gray and drizzly day, but it's Saturday. Two of the grandkids will spend the day and night here.

An hour into a 9 hour shift then a rainy day off.

Couldn’t remember why I got this “Whitey” so cheap.

Then I remembered that somebody wrote their initials on it. Ugh…

Not uncommon for kids to put their initials on cards back then. Still, it presents very well!

Massachusetts has been in a severe drought conditions since last fall

I went for a nice ride today after being in the hospital all week again ! I went out to a fish ladder in Turners Falls Massachusetts on part of the Connecticut River in the western part of the state. Which is 120 miles from Long Island Sound. The river is about 400 miles long. There were a load of American Shad going through at the time I was there. There was also one large mouth bass swimming through. There are about 15 - 20 different kinds for fish that use the fish ladder. From Salmon to sturgeon and some butt ugly lamprey eels. They have teeth where they attach them selves to game fish and suck the life out of them. The shad are not good eating fish. Lots of big scales and bones. I guess the indians used to eat the lamprey.
