Hey strangers! I finally have a little down time since I'm sick with bronchitis (have to love the beginning of the school year) so I thought I would stop in. I still lurk from time to time.

Joe - Congrats on the pregnancy!

Since I last posted, I left my school district and have started at a much better one with higher pay. It's also only a few miles down the road compared to the 25 to my last district.

My girlfriend and I adopted our first pet, an adorable 1.5 year old cat named Chloe. Love her to death.

Had the wifes side of the family over for a bday party for Alie. Cake, ice cream, and Hello Kitty stuff galore! Lego Friends, a tiara... But she also got a pair of black boots. Gonna work out real good with her Black Widow costume i got her. (From avengers)

Man, been a long morning. Just got done finally sorting and cataloging all the cards I've got this week.

I also finished putting about 50 of my best Belle cards into one-touch holders. I needed to step my game up.

Any MTers familiar with 1997 Topps Mint, which looks to be a precurser to the 1998 Topps Stars N Steel set? Maybe someone like [MENTION=10405]Hawk8[/MENTION] who was a dealer in the late 90s would have some idea.

Here's a Maddux:

You can see the 'Mint' brand name where 'Stars N Steel' shows up in the 1998 release.

I'm guessing this is nothing special, but have struck out looking for information in all the usual sources (baseball card pedia, trading card database, etc).

Phew, viewing and service over. That was harder and easier than I thought it would be. Don't think I've cried that much in a looong time. But there's a sense of calm and feeling "it'll be ok" that can't be described.

Sorry to see Wedge leaving the mariners. Wish he'd stick around. Frustrating as a fan but I do believe we're getting a well built team coming together.
