Is there something on the Wii that you can buy & download old Nintendo games on ? I need that if it exists (which, I thought when the Wii came out, was advertised as being able to do).

The last time I was at our local flea market, I remember seeing a booth with hundreds of the old Nintendo games, along with the consoles. Memories of the hours spent playing Space Invaders came back. I swear I could even hear the noise the game made as the aliens slowly crept down and attempted to take over the basement.

I don't remember off hand but I thought Nintendo had an online store similar to the playstation store accessible from the wii. I could very well be wrong though. My two favorite games were Zelda on nes, and Zelda: a link to the past on supernes
Mario world was amazing and I had a great time with "punch out" when I was little. Beating it several times w/o codes

I to this day still call the controllers "paddles"
My kids think it's funny and they're "no dad, it's a controller"

Zelda and Mike Tyson's Punch Out were two of my favorites. On Zelda, I always had problems with the little stone guys in the cemetery and trying to remember which headstone to move to get to the underground area. The fat guy in Punch Out used to crack me up with the faces he made when you hit him in the gut.:D

A buddy of mine "jailbroke" my Wii, (don't ask me how, I have no clue) and added all the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis games, although the Sega games don't work right...but it's awesome playing all the old Nintendo.. Go SuperTechmoBowl and RBIBaseball!!

Thats what I want. The actual Nintendo console and original games. It'd be nice to find them and some of the original boxes too.

I don't recall if the consoles were in the boxes. He may very well have had them behind the counter. My curiosity has been peaked.;)

Wii U (the newer hi-def Wii with a tablet-like controller) and 3DS both have access to what's called Virtual Console in the eShop app. Its library continues to grow every week with new additions from the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance and even Sega (Genesis, Game Gear, etc) back catalogues. You can even play those games on the Wii U GamePad (tablet-like controller) instead of the TV. Yes, old Mario and Zelda games are in the said library. Unfortunately, the version of Punch-Out!! isn't that with Mike Tyson (obviously, the contract with Tyson has long expired).

I still have my NES/SNES/N64/etc systems from the old days but I wouldn't play them on my HDTV. Older systems (using red/yellow/white cables) look like infant poo on a LCD/plasma screen...need to be played on older (CRT) TVs nstead. My parents still have a CRT TV so I'll get that when they finally upgrade it to HDTV.

Not interested in getting a PS4 until most of its kinks are worked out and there are enough Japan-centric games to choose from. That will probably take a year or so for that to happen. Unfortuantely, PS4 doesn't play PS3 discs...so keeping a PS3 is a must for those who have lots of PS3 game discs.

BTW George - that card in your sig...perfect heirloom for someone down the line. Just saying....

Dan, thanks This specific card and I have a long history of misses, maybe listed 4-6 times and I always lost for one reason it another, last time was a BIN that I missed by mear minutes.

The other 4 cards are less nice, DACW has other listed with just a hint of red patch hence the reason I did not jump on it as I wanted this exact card or nada. It will be the one Musial Patch/auto that I keep.

I heard you can get a Sega Dreamcast and get discs that have Nintendo games on them.

Almost 1 here.
Gf gets off at 2:30 then were supposed to go to the local winter arts fair then hit up the couple of furniture stores here in town. What I wouldn't give for an ikea..
Those were quite the interesting stores to go into a browse around
