I went with my family to the Wisconsin Rattlers vs Kane County Cougars game last night.
The Cougars don't have much the way of prospects on the team. But the Wisc. team had Brett Lawrie, Evan Frederickson, and Cody Adams.
Frederickson looked TERRIBLE the first three innings. Everything was UP, he was walking the house, threw a wild pitch to score a run, and threw 3-4 pitches over the catchers head. On top of that, he was sitting at 83-85 with an overly flat breaking ball.
I was planning on just ripping the guy left and right. BUT, things started to change. He began to get a feel for his breaking ball, threw a few above average sliders for strikeouts, and also started to get his fastball in the 87-89 range. He ended up throwing a 6 inning complete game lsing 2-0.
Brett Lawrie looked good. He was playing 2B. His swing was a bit long, but he hit the ball hard in each at bat. I wish I would have been there for both games of the double header.
