Besides the massive traffic jam on the highway that originated about a mile before my exit, making the last few miles take about an hour.

Someone had a Koufax autograph card from Ultimate, IIRC, called 'Ultimate Six' or something. Beautiful horizontal design with a nice Sandy sig, a picture of Koufax, then 5 small photos of other immortals, Ripken, Griffey, Jeter, some other HOFer, and...Kei Igawa. I never really got into multi-player cards, especially with an auto of just one of them, but...Kei Igawa? Under the influence of what artificial compounds were the designers working when they decided he was worthy of this card? I've been thinking about buying another Koufax auto, but even if I was a billionaire this would be the very last on my checklist.

I've seen that card before. I'm thinking Igawa was put on there based mostly on early hype and because of the success he had in Japan. But still, why he would be there with the other players is a bit of a head scratcher. ::facepalm::

I imagine it has a lot to do with who is hot at the time, as the goal of the companies (albeit somewhat shortsighted) seems to be to sell what is hot with no consideration about long term value.

Is there a show in Austin this weekend?

Nah, down in SA. It's also going on tomorrow, but I be hard-pressed to say it was worth the trip. I still managed to spend $100, but mostly just by pecking at my long-term project vintage sets.
