...well, I have hit that time in life when card collecting has to take a backseat to life in general.

First off, please dont take this as a pity post, or wooooooo is me. It is not. I have made some good friends on this board and just feel the need to explain why some of you are seeing the Musial's and other items up for auction. I tend to put items up with high BIN/BO to get feelers every few months, but this time it is different.

I got engaged this past New Years Eve, wedding is October 30th of this year. Being 35 years old, fiancee is 32 years old, we have a wedding to pay for. At this age, you dont have your parents pay for your wedding, at least that is the way I feel. With that, we also have a honeymoon to pay for, going to Spain! :D Dang they are expensive, but the memories of the wedding and honeymoon faaaaaaaaaaar out weigh the ability to look at the cards in my sig on a daily basis. Dont get me wrong, I hate to see them go, but I have to do what I have to do.

Also, I really have not been in the "card collecting" mood as of late. Not sure what it is, but I really dont find much of a thrill in this hobby anymore. Most of the Musial cards that I buy, I buy with the intention of flipping for a profit. I have had so many Musial's pass thru my hands in the last 6-8 months it amazes me.

I will continue to collect/keep my other Musial items, about 20 autograph items, i.e. jersey, bat, hat, 4 balls, pictures, etc. Those I am keeping. My manroom will stay intact, minus the Musial cards. I will be keeping the Cuddyer collection that I started, as a few FCB memeber have helped me out with that collection, Flightposite, Steve-a-reno and imac220. Plus I like Cuddy as a person, not just a player, too. The other thing I plan on continuing is getting custom cards done of oldtime players and HOFers. 200lb Hockey Player did a kickass job with the Musial, Aaron and Bell and I hope he is willing to do some more for me in the future. Having an actual say in the design of the card I collect gives me that little thrill I have been missing.

If you are at all interested in any Musial or Minnesota Twins items, click on the auction link to the left to see what I have up on eBay, the non auto/gu items will be going up in the next few weeks. If you like any of the items, I would prefer you make me an offer via PM, as I would like to save on eBay fees. I hope this doesnt get taken as spam, but I am sure it will. I just would prefer that if I sell these Musial's that they go to a good home, that being one of an FCB member. Most of the BIN's are set at 25-30% higher than I would take to sell them. Remember, most, not all, some are higher, some are lower, some are spot on.

I will continue to pop in here and there after all of this is said and done, just to see how you peeps are doing and what crazy **** is going on in the hobby. Hopefully in the future, maybe 5-10 years down the road, I will get the itch again to collect cards with my future son/daughter. :D

Oh, and Raymond, Bo, Craig, Greg and all you other crazy Twins fans, I still plan on being at Twinsfest in the future, so you are not quite rid of me yet.

Say it ain't so?! You know that Musial Decades you have...... I still need it for my Decades set.

My advice is to hold onto some of the better stuff in case you decide to come back to us.

I actually sold that about 6 months ago. I would have rather given it to you than got what it sold for. That was one disappointing sale.
As for keeping a few things, I wont sell anything unless I get what I want for it. So you never know, I may have quite a few left over.
The two I will have the hardest with is the AG auto and the barrel. Will have to be a good offer to get those.

Ahhhhhhhhh!! You bastard. I never saw it pop up and WideRight usually alerts me when he sees something I need for the set that I don't already have :x Oh well... if I recall all of them had ugly sigs with ink skips which is why it didn't sell as high as you had hoped.

Chris...sorry to hear that you're taking a break from this, but I completely understand.

The custom cuts have really been a nice "spark" for me in the hobby, basically a way to keep it "fresh" for me.

That said, Spain will be an amazing memorable experience...and cards are just cardboard.
