Normally I don't post about bad eBay transactions here, but this one really bothers me. I bought two cards from him on February 2nd and promptly paid. Weeks go by without receiving the cards so I sent him an email asking where they were. Days go by and no answer. I opened a Paypal dispute yesterday and he has yet to respond to that.

The big problem is that this is a card with a limited print run. I bought two that Mr. Mem had listed thinking I was set and now that I realized I won't be receiving them I can't find them anywhere on eBay.

I know everyone here raves about what a great seller he is, but his lack of response in this matter is inexcusable.

Sorry to hear about it man. Its possible that your message got lost in the shuffle (he does tons of business) but not responding within a day is inexcusable. Let us know how this turns out.

I have dealt with him a few times, but the latest one he made a mistake in the listing. He made it right by giving me a nice price on the other things I bought (since it was to combine shipping) and gave me free shipping. Just contact him and he should make it right.

I did contact him and it went ignored. So I opened up a Paypal dispute to see if that would get his attention and it has been ignored as well. I would hate to raise the dispute to a claim on someone who is also a board member but it looks like I will have to do so shortly. He is actively listing items as recent as yesterday so I know he is able to check his messages.

I've dealt with him 3-4 times and been 100% satisfied with the transaction each time. He's a high volume seller, and I'm sure orders/emails may sometimes fall through the cracks.

I have honestly, never seen this is a viable excuse. If you have enough time to list and take the money from someone, you should have the time to respond to their messages. I doubt he sends cards for free that slip through the cracks.

So because he does high volumes and has mad you happy he gets excused from having to reply to messages and Paypal disputes?

Have you tried contacting him through his website? I guess there's a possibility of a spam filter issue or maybe he's traveling for a day or two. Or with all his business he's trying to track down when/if it was shipped? Who knows. He'll make it right in the end I'm sure

While I am not at the "short end" of this (so it might be easy for me to speak at a distance) I do feel that Mr. Mem has proven himself so many times over that he deserves the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I imagine there was a mix up of some sort or something came up, and I am confident he will work out whatever needs to be worked out. (It is possible he has people listing for him but only he actually handles complaints and he's had a tragedy to deal with or something along those lines. Not saying this is the reality, but I think his reputation and the thousands who will vouch for him should at the very least earn the benefit of the doubt.) I wouldn't lose hope on getting the cards. There seems little reason to assume that he just decided after years on eBay to screw people over over a few bucks.

are you emailing him directly or sending it through my messages/ebay? did you try calling him (think the #s in his listings/on his website)? did you pm him here? if all those fail, I'd escalate it to a pp claim as that tends to help sellers respond.

btw, just b/c someone has listings up daily doesn't mean they're on the pc that day...mr.mem, like most high volume sellers, uses a bulk listing tool that enables you to load listings days/weeks in advance.

I agree with this.

Mr. Mem has been one of the higher rated sellers (that ive seen) for a while, and I doubt he has decided to start screwing people over.

Hes been around long enough and I think to say he has screwed you is premature

I'm not saying he's screwed me intentionally or out of money. The fact that these cards have now disappeared is why I feel screwed.

It has been basically a month since Scuba bought the card. He has tried to communicate with him, no response. He files a Paypal dispute, no response. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ....

Hey I have to say and Thosebackpages will agree MEM lists a ton of stuff
so ignoring you I know it is not his thing.

I think if you gave it time he will and would make it up to you.
Sorry to hear you had a bad situation here .
Hope things workout for you. I have MEM as one of my most favorite sellers
and I search him for what I'm looking for almost everyday.
Good Luck

Ah,

that makes a difference.

I misunderstood and thought it was only a little after 2 weeks since it all happened.

Yes, a month is waaaayyyy too long. I agree with Scuba now.
