And there should be a rule in place, that if it is clear he hit out and then injuies himself it is still a home run and no need to run the base even if the game is not over.

Agreed. It's dumb that the ump wouldn't let him have any help.

Still, his dedication to his team was pretty cool.

Man that's a tough dude. Tore my ACL/MCL/Meniscus and tried to CRAWL off and that was difficult. Props to Sean Smith for powering through. Strange that the umpire wouldn't allow him to be helped around the bases, not sure if the rules don't permit opposing teams from aiding players. If nothing else, a coach should be able to assist in the event of a ground rule double or HR where the ball is out of play and the player is obviously injured.
