Hope it will help to keep Mariners healthy..

In the 37-year-old Martin, they have found what they feel is the perfect person to draw all this together and lead them toward Dipoto’s goal of cutting time on the disabled list by 25 percent. That’s a significant number for a team that lost 1,477 days to injuries last year, resulting in close to $43 million in dead money.

I would imagine this is something a lot of teams will be doing, title may be different but with the increase in specific training you almost need a set of eyes that understands that world but didn't create the plan to fill in the holes so players don't miss so much time. Good job on the mariners making the move.

Director of High Performance?! Isn’t that what AnthonyCorona hired Phil Bickford for?

So the Mariners will have a team-record most DL days in 2018? ;)

I seem to recall a few years ago the Dodgers hired one of these people to do strength and conditioning of their athletes and it ended up with athletes spending more time on the DL instead of keeping people off the DL more often.
