I wanted to ask some of you guys for an opinion on when one should start to worry about not receiving anything for Secret Santa. I was just curious since I signed up for 2 medium level entries and have received neither yet. I am not panicking yet but level of worrisome is growing each day. Thanks for the opinions.

Holidays always turn snail mail into ridiculously slow snail mail. I wouldn't worry unless still not received after first week of Jan.

How did the Secret Santa go? Is there a related thread?

Maybe my Secret Santa will just turn in a Birthday present for me since my B-day is Jan. 2.

Well at first they set up a database for the SS for everyone to enter in their info and then some loser hacked it and they had to scrap that idea and go strictly to a PM system. Everyone's victim got switched at the last minute and some people backed out due to all of the confusion. There is a thread at the top that has been stickied but not many results have been posted yet.

I did 5 secret santas this year not including the MT group..

I know I sent everything with a DC and everything has arrived for my victims.. I have only seen 2 responses and one person who updated his collection with no response..

I know that in the past when the Secret Santa's didn't send out they were dealt with seriously..

Since I will probably be running it next year, I would like to know who was supposed to send out and did not send anything.. We had this same issue on Beckett when I ran it there.. (I had about 30-40 in each group)..

If your SS gift doesn't show up by mid January, let me know, as there are some Silent Santas that are willing to help out..

Thank you for your patience..

It is no problem waiting. This is only my second year participating in Secret Santa. Last year I received everything before Christmas and had a lot of fun with it. This year had a few headaches but none of them were anyone's fault except for that d-bag that hacked the system.

BTW, I posted in the SS thread that I finally received your last installment for SS and it will be out in the mail on Monday.

Thanks.. I'll be posting some more as they get here.. One of my incoming was sent to a wrong address so it's being
re-routed.. :D

I need to scan in the cards I got from my other SS's..

If you don't receive anything by the time to start 2010 Secret Santa then I would worry, :D until then it is still on it's way!

I would hang on til probably the 2nd week of January. Its been messy.

I hope to have a coordinator assist me with next years SS. I have asked Pinbreaker to help me so perhaps with the two of us on top of things, we won't have to worry about database crashes and such. It will move efficiently.

Let me know if you haven't gotten anything by then. I know some folks were dealing with slow shippers to get cards to them so they could send out.

I thought the SS was too late this year from the beginning. I like going to a couple of shows to shop, but when it was redone I decided not to participate.

A good guideline is to start the SS around the 1st of October, and give participants two months to purchase something so that all packages can be mailed out around the first of December. That way, the mail won't get caught up in the Christmas hustle as it gets closer to Christmas. We would have been fine if the database hadn't been hacked.
