sounds like Roy will wave his no trade clause to NY. Gonna end up going to be Joba, Montero, Vizcaino, and a few other minor prospects. Devestating I think to Montero's value.

No way the Yankees give up that much for one year of Halladay.

Yankee fans not to worry your not going to give anyone since there will be no trade between these 2 teams
Cubbies will get him and rid themselves of Bradley in the process.

Doc can waive whatever he wants. The Yankees would not be that stupid. If Cashman does this than all hope is gone. For one year you are giving up your best chips for a guy that will be a free agent at the end of the season. Brainless move if I am Cashman.

Except for that negotiating period they can grant a team to sign the player to a contract before a trade goes through.

You guys are definitely forgetting the 1st rounder that comes with Halladay, assuming the Yanks don't resign him.

and when you're the Yankees, supp. first rounders have a magical way of turning out top-10 talent that no one else can afford.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE HALLADAY GETS TRADED TOO.... THE TEAM RECEIVING HIM WILL NEED TO LOCK HIM UP FOR A LONG TERM EXTENSION, LIKELY THROUGH THE END OF HIS CAREER.

Sorry for yelling, but this needs to be said. Halladay will only waive his no trade clause if it comes with a contract extension, which is why teams have 10 days to exclusively negotiate a deal before the trade is processed.

This is NOT a 1 year trade.

mwashuc06 u almost gave me a heart attack. I thought he got injured or something when U post this message.
If J.Montero get traded, he may come to major even earlier so is better to sell later than now. But ultimately he has to hit in order to sell.

i disagree

Really? Because if it was that easy to trade away big chips, than why didn't the Yankees aggressively go after Santana a couple of years ago? Explain why you disagree.

The Yankees would be foolish not to make that trade.

FCB is "blinded by the light" of "prospects" in general.

Lets not forget that Roy is a PROVEN Major Leaguer, and Jesus has yet to make the show

The Yankees DID go aggressively after Santana.

The Yankees scoffed at that deal, because they didn't want to deal Kennedy, as part of a Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera, Ian Kennedy and Jeff Marquez deal. Remember that KENNEDY was the reason this never happened.

I remember Joba or Hughes, Kennedy, Melky, and then some.
Way to much considering what the Mets got Santana for.

Montero is going to the Marlins for Josh Johnson. Just my prediction. The Marlins are having problems resigning Johnson. I heard some chatter about it today on radio.

Well Montero stuff will be undervalued as a marlin, imagine him and hanley hitting 3-4 in the order.

They can re sign him quite easily..

I dont believe the Yankees could afford to spend $75 mill on another pitcher. Their going to be going hard after Mauer next year. He could be a $100 million contract for them. They have to sign either Damon or Bay/Holliday this season. If they have a team with Matt Holliday, Roy Halladay, Joe Mauer, Alex Rodriguez, CC Sabbathia, Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira, I may never watch baseball again.

Add Mariano Rivera, and if that is the case, goodluck to your Sox! Haha.

Mudcatsfan Just passed out.

Please lord just sign JJ, but i know they wont because they dont spend money on pitching, they just keep drafting new ones.

Yes birds in the hand are better than fowl in the bush, howeva.

Picturing a lineup with

Maybin CF
Coghlan 2b
Hanley SS
Stanton RF
Lo-Mo 1B
Jesus C

with the ability to add even more offense at 3b or LF

That's an insanely sick young offense.
