Seller FAIL (Update: Ultimate Manning Delivery)

Just not my stretch with receiving stuff. It seems that every item I've had sent to me over the past 5 months has had some form of issue. Either it's lost in transit, destroyed in transit, delayed in transit or destroyed by the mail carrier making the exchange from truck to box.

Last week I picked up a Manning auto /5. Auction ended the afternoon of the 9th, paid the 10th and received a shipping label has been printed e-mail notification. I check the code at the USPS site every day and the information is never updated. Seller wanted to send it 3-5 day delivery uninsired and I convinced him to let me pay for the insurance. Give it 5 shipping days to arrive and nothing. Sent a note to the seller and get the following:

1) Package mailed where wife works
2) Not mailed until this past Tuesday
3) Did not leave building until Thursday and I do not know why

Now it is 8 days after the shipping label was printed and there's still nothing in the USPS database. Kinda surprising from a seller with 2,200+ feedback with no negatives.

The only concern in the back of my mind is the price. Again it is an run of 5 but the copy I bought was the second copy sold within a week or so of the previous sale. I grabbed my copy for nearly 40% less. The bummer here is that other buyers from auctions that ended the same day started receiving their stuff last week.

from my personal experience, it could be one of 2 things. i printed a label and forgot to ship it for 2 weeks or it wasnt scanned and is in limbo, which happened to said package. also i am waiting for something the seller said they shipped feb 18th and the status hasnt changed in the tracking info.

the post office wonders why they are losing business.....well for starters, other than the service at most places, how can you justify charging a fee for delivery confirmation then proceed not to use it because the mail person was too lazy to scan it and do their job correctly. that is what i was told happened with my package, they just didnt scan it and sent it. well its been 2 months and i dont have the card back, the buyer doesnt have the card and the tracking number just says i printed it out. same for the item i am waiting for, a month and still nothing.

Not going to say to not worry.....as it may be justified, but things may still be alright.

The delay in it going out could be true and it explains the delay. Also I'm not sure where the seller lives, but I know personally living in Chicago it often takes a couple days for mail to get out of the city....so often times it may take up to a week for something I send (and that's with no problems).

Also with the DC - I know most items I ship come up as not in the database until they reach their destination. So while it may be worrisome, it's not out of the ordinary. USPS is basically worthless until it reaches the destination point.

Thanks for the feedback. This seller has too strong a history for me to seriously think they would try something like this. I received a note saying they know for a fact that it has left the building. FWIW they are in CA.

I just sent something last week (or the week before) to a member here and it took 8 days to arrive. It also was not scanned anywhere along the way, including when my post office took it in. It was only scanned after it was delivered.

The same thing happened with FOUR other packages at the same time, but they went got there in normal time.

Well this might work out. Finally got an update to the USPS tracking. Apparently it was never scanned until arriving at the local PO.

Here's the auction scan of the card. I'll try to get a better scan in the next day or two.

I have cheered for Peyton since his days at UT. Taking that in consideration this was on my list of "must haves" when I first saw it. The first copy went higher than I could pay and I wondered if I would see another at auction. It just so happens that I stumbled on this copy with the "search title and description" clicked. This is a beautiful card to hold in person with the foil jumping out at you. Serial numbered 5/5 and part of my permanent collection:

That really is a great card. With all the Manning auto cards out there it's nice to have something more unique like that.

Maybe you should change the title to the thread now to Amazing Manning card lol.
Seems like the Seller was pretty straight forward to you and I guess he could have just went to the PO himself to get it to you a day earlier.....but doesn't seem like anything too terrible. Glad it turned out to be nothing bad.

Thanks so much and I should update the title. I'm with you in regards to it being a situation that could've been worse. However, the more days involved with transit only increases the chances something can happen. Although I would've liked for it to be sent after the label was printed I am more than appreciative that it got to me. It would've been painful for this one to have been lost.

I'm still watching for one of Peyton's Personal Touch cards to appear. According to UD, Manning has 4 different cards. I am yet to see a copy with his "hero" listed.
