So recently I've had a bunch of high dollar items that I need to sell...now I've never really sold anything too high dollar (above $500). Basically, I know a bunch of you are experienced with this. I want to know: How do I minimize the amount of money I lose to fees? If I sell on ebay I lose 9-12%, with paypal I lose ~3%. Any ideas to get the most bang for my dollar?

if its an auction, 50.00 is the most you pay in fees per item.
so if you sold 10 cards seperate and got 10,000 your fees are 500.
if you sold 10 cards together and got 10,000 youd pay 50 in fees.

You list them BIN/BO with an extremely high BIN price. When you get an offer you would take, then email the buyer to try and complete off ebay. Or you can work out a price with the buyer and see if he will let you counter offer $1 and then add the difference to the shipping charges on the invoice. I have used both methods in the past.

Ok, so other than sell off of ebay, which is fairly obvious. Is there any alternative to paypal? I suppose 3% isn't terrible, but it's still annoying to have to give up 30 bucks, or so.

propay, authorize.net, etc.

btw, paypal fees can be a lot less than 3% (1.1% is the lowest i believe) if you get the merchant rate (sell $x/mo. over a certain time). many people don't know about the merchant rate (you have to apply for it)

i didn't realize that (last i heard, they were still trying to get it). the fees seem higher than paypal's merchant rates?
