Selling packs at a card show

What are your thoughts about dealers selling packs at card shows? Is it just assumed that they are searched/resealed?

i would never touch them. almost gauranteed they are searched.

Boxes like Razor Sig Series and Topps Signature all have 1 Auto per pack. Would you feel more comfortable buying these, knowing that if you don't get an auto you can kick the dealer in the balls?

he got the big hit out of the box and is selling the left overs with a good chance of all tem being ****** autos?

If I do end up going with the idea to sell packs at shows I will probably keep the boxes sealed with a sign on them of how much the packs are, and if someone wants to buy them then I'll open the box in front of them so they will have peace of mind and they can also tell others that they saw me open it.

Yeah i thought the same thing after that person leaves then it would leave the perception that now
the hit is gone and these are the left overs.

Not so sure that the packs are searched (by searched I mean opened an/or tampered with)

What probably happens quite often is that some dealers might stop opening their packs once they get their "hit" and then use the remaining packs that most likely won't have any major "hits" as packs to be sold at shows

Even though some products have guaranteed autos per pack, the same philosophy can be said in regards to once a pack with the "better" auto = pulled, use rest of packs for resale (ie. once the /5, /25, /199 = found then stop opening and sell the rest unopened)

I guess the one way one can get burned as a dealer is if the product has "hot boxes"

i would expect most of them to be searched.
sadly alot of dealers search them.

Depends on the dealer. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from any of the three wax dealers at the local shows here. Nothing is searched with any of them.

I would just have to depend on word of mouth that "Hey, so-and-so's boxes are not searched, I bought the first pack and he opened it in front of me."

Or just have the dealers near/next to me vouch for me to the customer that they saw me open it as well.

the only show i went to had packs from a dealer. i bought some. pulled an upton chrome refractor auto and a delmon young chrome auto (back when they were selling for $100+)

The guy I go to, is honest. If I am up there just to shoot the shat, and not buying any boxes that day. I need to feed the addiction so when I go to buy some packs, he will let me know what has been pulled from each open box.
