Hey everyone, I tried searching this topic to see if there were any pointers or advice and didn't see anything so I apologize if this is old hat for some of you, but I just pulled my first printing plate in a box of Topps Archives and was wondering if there was any advice on selling it on eBay (note: I've never sold a card on eBay).

It's the Willie Stargell Cloth Sticker Yellow Plate

I wasn't sure if the Buy It Now route or the Auction route was the better way to go, and what price parameters, if any, I should use.

Thanks

My $.02, start your auction at the minimum amount you are willing to take for the item and then let it ride for 3 or 5 or 7 days.

Example, you want $20 for this plate, start the bidding at $19.99. If you really want to, you can add a BIN option to an auction. So you could set your auction to start at $19.99, and add a BIN of say $39.99, your choice on the amount. Just know, if someone places a bid, the BIN option goes away, which would be OK, as you are guaranteed to get the minimum you wanted for it anyways. Sometimes by putting the BIN option in with the auction, you entice people to either 1) hit that BIN cause they dont want to lose out on it, or 2) place a bid to kill the BIN cause they think they can get it cheaper than the BIN price.

Good luck~

BIN/BO with the starting price about 2X what you want...let the offers come in. Keep in mind the % ebay keeps off of BIN's is higher than normal auctions.

I actually didn't know that as I normally just do auctions when I sell stuff. How much is the difference?

The Best Offer feature doesn't seem to be available to me. I have feedback of 41 and they're all positive.

It will only be available if you have a Buy It Now listing set up I believe. When I started selling on EBAY it was confusing at first. Just make sure that you preview your auction carefully before you actually list it. That way you can make sure it looks exactly how you want it to before it goes live. And make sure you clearly state your shipping price. If you are shipping in a bubble mailer and you use Ebay/Paypal shipping it will only cost you $1.64 in postage (If under 3 oz., which it should be). You should probably charge $2.00 or $2.50 S&H if you are shipping that way, but that is up to you. Some people offer free shipping because it can help you get a better price on the card if the buyer sees free shipping. You'll just have to decide how you want to handle that.

Now my other $.02, just checked Stargell completed 1/1 printing plates the these two popped up:

Gypsy Queen full size for $21.49
http://www.ebay.com/itm/WILLIE-STAR...0885389001?pt=US_Football&hash=item416612e6c9

Gypsy Queen mini size for $30.00
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Topps-...956?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231c68458c

I say for yours, you will get within that range
I personally would start it off at $19.99 with a BIN option of $39.99 and see what happens
I really dont think you are leaving any money on the table if someone hits that BIN

Back of the plate looks rough.Nice job, Topps.

The plate is amazing. It comes with bonus fingerprint smudges including black, cyan and magenta. There are actually all 4 colors represented on this plate! Truly a 1/1!!

You can instantly have the rainbow without even bidding on the remaining 3 plates!

Seriously though, that Hubbard with the snake around his neck is one of the cooler cards I've seen.
