Selling your collection due to the economy

I'm a straight white male btw so I'm a little worried about my future at least for the next 3 years to say the least lol.

It's a fact that straight, white Christian males are targeted for hatred by liberals which means that if anyone except for a conservative-thinking white male is a hiring manager, a white male will likely be the last choice to be hired for a job in favor of a woman, effeminate-acting white male or minority male to meet the company's hiring quota. That may sound funny but it's the truth. Even straight white male liberals tend to hate masculine-looking white males because they have allowed themselves to be brainwashed so much by the media that they hate what they were born as. I don't want to keep going on and on because this is a forum to discuss sports cards but I don't have affirmative action on my side and I wasn't born into a rich family so I've always had to work hard for anything I have.

Since I have been in and out of card collecting for 3 1/2 years, I often go through this myself. My questions usually surround what I am doing in the hobby, and how all my money will be wasted. As a Jeff Bagwell collector, I fear that he will be implicated in the whole steroids mess, and that his stuff will be as worthless as that of Miguel Tejada, of whom it is difficult to get rid of anything.

About a year ago, I sold most of my patches and memorabilia cards, because I began to think they were a farce. Of my whole card collection, I just saved a couple 1/1s, those two Bagwell Exquisite patch 1/1s that I had. Most of my money right now is going toward game-used jerseys, because I find that having the whole item is worth more to me.

As far as cards are concerned, I am trying to get a collection going again. But this time, I am buying only 1/1s, oddball stuff, and truly unique pieces. Never again will I go back to the craze where I would amass tens and tens of Bagwell patches and sticker autos. Those cards just lost all value to me, since there were so many 1/1s and sticker autos. Now, I just have the Exquisite 1/1s and a few odds and ends.

I just bought a Topps Gallery original negative from the Topps Vault and a couple of Topps Card Contracts. The pieces I am getting are unique and truly special to me, which is not what my card collection was, by any stretch of the imagination. I don't do any prospecting either. There's nothing worse than seeing cards upon cards of that can't miss prospect that are worth absolutely nothing.

I'm not "feeling sorry for myself" but I have had trouble landing a good job though I have a Bachelor's in Accounting and right now I'm working as a debt collector of all things to make ends meet until I can find something better which could be awhile because it seems that a lot of hiring managers have put hiring non-effeminate acting white males on the backburner. I have always interviewed well and I've been complemented by interviewers in the past so I'm pretty certain that it isn't my interviewing skills that are my problem. All I'm saying is that this whole "diversity" initiative is blatant racism against straight white males and when you subtract the white males who have allowed themselves to be brainwashed by the media, straight white males who have pride in what they were born as are actually in the minority.

bottom line is the job market is crap right now. i work as a supervisor for a beer distributor in southern california and we have countless applicants with degrees being turned away everyday, even for entry level positions. with so many large companies going under and/or laying people off, the hiring pool is flooded with people who have degrees and real world job experience.

While I am sorry about your work situation, the media is neither dominated by Jews nor do we have an easier time in society. There is still a lot of anti-Semitism in present today society, especially on college campuses, where many find it funny to make jokes at the expense of those with Hebraic ancestry. I have experienced anti-Semitism on the part of the ultra-Left, who think that every Jew should be held responsible for every one of Israel's policies. There is also anti-Semitism on the ultra-Right, where people have voiced their commitment to not wanting their gated communities to be "infested" by Jews.

The economy is, always has been, and always will be cyclical. No matter how smart or stupid our government leaders are there will be booms and busts. If all baseball cards become worthless your money probably will be too. The only thing that could really cause this is some kind of societal collapse.

The economy isn't doing especially well right now, but we are far from another depression.


Just don't panic. People with the attitude that the economy is only going to get worse leads to just that. If the majority of people have a positive outlook on the economy, it often leads to a stronger economy. Perception of the future generally has a direct effect on spending habits which are what can actually help or hurt the economy.

A lot of the people in poor areas around the country like Compton, California make no effort to become educated despite the aid that is out there for them and would rather sit around all day drinking malt liquor. I hate to single out one group of people but this country has bent over backwards so much to help black people or "African-Americans" for the pc liberals here that it isn't even funny yet they are still at the bottom as a group. The parents learn to live (many times very comfortably) off of the welfare system and then they churn out multiple kids who end up doing the same. I know that not all Hispanics are illegal but I live in Illinois and I've seen Hispanics who can't be more than 20 years old driving around better cars like Lexuses than I've ever had. To make things more irritating, I've seen an attractive white female in the front seat on more than one occasion. :x
