Serialed numbered to players uniform number ? Hunted ?

Do alot of player colllectors go after their player's uniform number / to the serial numbered card ?
I would rather have the first (1/10) or the last (10/10). When I get a chance every once in awhile I will grab the jersey number of the player.
I was lucky on this sweep from the same seller.

same here, I have about 25 Dale Murphy #d 3/xx and 14 Eddie Mathews #d 41/xx. There seems to be Maddux and Chipper collectors that go after these because I put generous snipes on them but can never get the win.

I'm currently sitting at 35 numbered 23/XX and 1 numbered at 37/XX (pictured in a Phillies uniform). I've got a couple 23's coming my way. I do hunt the jersey numbered cards.

I've got over 70 cards that are serial numbered 13/XX. Omar wore #11 the last 2 years and I think he might get #17 this year. He still signs his name #13 so I'll just stick to that.

I'm nearing 100 Mauer cards #'ed 7/xx.

I've never actually cared what the serial number is. I don't usually even notice it until the card is in hand and I'm adding it to a spreadsheet.

I do think it's cool to have a 1/xx or a JSY #/xx, but I'll look at it for a second, think "hey, that's cool" and then not really think much of it again.

Interesting thought. If I were collecting the set I'd prefer 01/xx, but if I were collecting the player I'd prefer the jersey #.

I just HATE all the sellers who claim these kinds of cards are 1/1s...they should get a DSR hit on 'item as described' IMO

I prefer card #1 versus jersey number. I was contemplating selling one of two Upper Deck Authenticated baseballs I had of Hunter Pence but could not decide which one to sell. One was jersey number /50 and the other was 1/50. My wife stated... #1 will always be #1 but what if he changes jersey numbers? Good point! I sold the jersey number ball for a nice premium.

I certainly am guilty of writing 1/1 for these types of cards. But I also fully explain (not exclaim) why it 'could be perceived as' a 1/1 in the description. Also, it makes it easier for player and set collectors find these specifically numbered cards.

They don't do anything for me. It's cool when I see them but I don't count or look for them. I may have to go through my 2007 black stone milestone set though, 192 cards /29...there has to be some that are 25/29.

It gets old when you're searching for 1/1s and all of these come up

This shows how unsophisticated our hobby is - there should be a better/easier way to describe these jersey number/001/*** types of cards because they're not 1/1s!

I have over 100 Maggs cards #ed 30/xx. Also have many 1/xx and last/xx cards as well. It helps control my spending. If I ignore the # rule, I'd buy his cards on a daily basis and it might lead to total burnout.

I've only got one card numbered 5. I dont specifically hunt for them, but i think its an added perk to the collection to have them. But I also hate it when people apply a premium to it and consider them a 1 of 1. I have an auto card thats 2 of 5 i paid 40 bucks for, and theres been the same card on ebay, numbered 5 of 5 listed for $150. Just cuz its 5/5. So lame.
