I completed the 1993 Topps Finest baseball just a couple months ago. I had a great start from a box I'd bought back in 94 or 95 (my refractor was John Franco)
I also have a set of 1996 Select Certified baseball...my 2nd favorite set of all time.

1983-85 Donruss, Fleer, Topps sets (OK, I didn't build these sets, but bought them complete)

I also like those small food issue auto sets from the 90s. I did build these one at a time.

1995 Jimmy Dean (J.Hunter, A.Kaline, B.Williams)
1997 Jimmy Dean (Y.Berra, B.Robinson)
1995 Tombstone Pizza (J.Bench, G.Brett, B.Gibson)
1996 Canadian Club (E.Banks, R.Fingers, B.Robinson, F.Robinson, W.Stargell, B.Williams)
1999 Hillshire Farms (E.Banks, H.Killebrew, F.Robinson, W.Stargell)

It was generally the same cast of characters that participated in these type of sets. There's also the 1993-94 Nabisco sets.

Too bad Teddie didn't autograph cards for that set.

Funny how clueless some people are when it comes to selling. Many people selling the card for as low as $1.99 delivered, yet this guy thinks $11.99 is a good starting point. The highest raw I saw was $15. Hmmm, $15 or $2. Which one will I pick?

1982 Topps football.

Loved that set as a kid. First licensed Topps FT set in about 30 years. Plus “In action” subset cards, which were HTF back then. For example, Montana’s base card shows him on the sideline phone.

1980 Topps baseball.

Still love the design. Plus, the classic Rickey RC.

To round out the Top 5:

1984 Donruss baseball, 2019 Big League Gold set and 1992 Ultra, all three sports.

The last set I put together was 1994 Pinnacle. Built a master set with Museum cards
and the Artist Proofs. All of the inserts, promos and the send aways. Even have the
cards you sent in for the Museum card mail-ins. All nice and neat in two albums. Last
time I looked at them, people were WORRIED about Y2K. Tried the Collectors Choice
from the same year. About 90% complete on the Silver Signatures and 10% on the Gold.
Both of these are baseball sets.

The first set I've ever built as a kid was 1992 Topps. I mainly opened packs in hopes of hitting the Brien Taylor RC, but after awhile I organized my cards and decided that I wanted to complete it. A friend of mine introduced me to a neighbor of his who regularly traded cards and so I was able to trade dups for cards I needed. I also went to a local card shop and was able to buy singles I didn't have. I finally finished the set around my birthday that year, and wouldn't you know it, my dad bought me the complete set when he was on deployment and gave it to me for my birthday.

So now, I have 2 complete sets from that year, one sealed and one hand collated. While the set itself is probably nothing to sneeze at, the memories of that year still stick with me and I'm proud that I was able to build that set.

Thought he did sign a few for 1994. I know he signed the Locklear Collection card of himself in 1993. I thought he signed 54 copies of card #1 in 1994.
That could be possible. I don't recall hearing about it, but I may have missed it. Still, his own company, and yet so few autographs. Hell, he signed 2000 for UD heroes. Maybe that explains it. UD likely paid him fat stacks and he didn't have anyone to pay him for his own set. However, think how popular that set could have been with an attainable Ted Williams auto lurking just a few packs/boxes away!
