One of the two ONLY pitchers, in my opinion, that have not been connected to PED that literally were unhittable during their prime years in the late 90's and early 00's. The other is Randy Johnson.
For my money, Randy Johnson was more intimidating in the early 90's with that 100 MPH heat than he was in his late 30's when that slider really became the primary weapon. He was far more effective then, once he learned to utilize the secondary stuff, but to me the intimidation factor wasn't as strong.
With Pedro, the man had three or four pitches that could spin a batter out of the box and he was so tiny it looked ridiculous. In terms of making batters look silly and the demeanor he had on the mound, Pedro scared me to death and I wasn't even in the box.
First ballot without a second thought.
