Quick shipping question:

Is there any way (preferrably cheaper) to confirm delivery to our friends from North of the Border?

I looked around USPS' website but couldn't get a good answer, so I thought I throw it out to the experienced sellers here...

Thanks for any help!

I would not worry about delivery confirmation to Canada
Send it the cheapest way possible and don't worry.

Unfortunately I believe that if you send with PayPal you have to include delivery confirmation. From what I've found the cheapest way to send with Confirmation to Canada is like $12.00. Just go to the PO and send first class and its usually like .50 more than sending to anywhere else.

It honestly amazes me that there is not a cheaper way to send to Canada with some proof of tracking. I can send a card via USPS 1st Class and it cost me less to send to Canada than it does to mail the same package to the next town over yet if I want to protect myself from a claim I have to kill a Canadian customer with $12 shipping.

In my 10 years on ebay I have had 4 packages claimed to have not arrived and all 4 were shipped to Canada without delivery confirmation.

Thanks all! I was hoping to sell some hi-end hockey to Canada but I am very wary about sending items with out DC, or something similar.

Well if it is high end, how high we talking. If your going to make a good penny on the deal
I would then tell buyer he has to pay full price on the shipping or met him have way on the price of shipping.

There are more ways to ship than just the USPS. Have you looked at UPS or FedEx??

The problem with UPS or FedEx is that they use brokerages instead of customs. They charge an automatic $30 fee on top of the 15% tax we have to pay on the value of the card.

It is $1.10 for an International Proof of Shipment form. I'm very surprised no one else here has used this, it's much cheaper than $13.

Do you have anymore info on this or a link? I would like to find out more as I hate losing out on potential Canadian bidders due to me having to kill them on shipping. Does an International Proof of Shipment form satisfy a Paypal claim?

I can't say for certain, but I heard that it is accepted. You just have to ask the clerk at the PO for one. I use them, but have had no "problems", so I am not 100% certain that PayPal accepts them as proof.
