GF and I are going to be in Boston this weekend. We're going to two games at Fenway, so that'll be awesome. I was wondering if there are any shops in Boston worth not missing. I don't know how much time we'll have since GF wants to do hit Faneuil Hall, several historic bars, and about 9 other places in 2 days, in addition to the games, but I may be able to make it happen.

Gonna go ahead and watch this, as I'll be in Boston Thursday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

Sorry I can't contribute anything to this.

I used to live very close to Boston but I've been gone for about 10 years so I'm not too sure how accurate my info is.
There was a great shop in Quincy Center, called KC's Sportcards across from the Unitarian church at 33 Temple Street.
The owner was a great guy and I had many a good pull from that shop.
If you have a car, I highly recommend The Bleachers in Abington on Route 18. Best shop in the area, although it's about 30 minutes outside of Boston.
JJ Teaparty used to be on 51 Bromfield St, just a few steps from the Park Street station on the green line. Not sure if it's still there though.
I think that's about it, but like I said, my info might be out of date, I do know that The Bleachers is till there.
Have fun and enjoy the city!

Youre in Boston, one of the most historical cities in the US, please dont waste your time looking for card shops, take in the history, the food, the architecture, the sites, sounds, smells, the ambiance, etc., anything but a card shop.

I grew up in Philadelphia, I've have been to Boston about a dozen times, and I minored in American History in college. I even just read a Gordon Wood book on the Revolution. I'm up to ^^^^here^^^^ with history. I just wanted to know if there are any good card shops worth visiting. Sheesh.

Your OP never made mention of you growing up in Philly, been to Boston about a dozen times, minoring in American History and reading a book on the Revolution.
Dont take my post as a "sheesh" post, take it as not knowing the above info and assuming youve never been to Boston and stating to leave the hobby behind for a couple of days and take in this historic, wonderful city. By the sounds of your post (and maybe I shouldnt assume again) but shes never been to Boston? If that is the case, then with your vast knowledge of being to the city many many times, I am sure you all will have a lovely time.

Have a fantastic time. I am a MA native and love every chance I get to go back.

Who knows, you might even see me at Fenway (sort of)...

If you want to stay inside the city, JJ Teaparty is the only one that I know of.
Outside of the city, you have a few options, but it doesn't sound like you will have the time.
Sportsworld in Saugus has some nice stuff. That is north of town.
Bleachers in Abington is a great shop, south of the city.
West of the city there is Gilbert's in Natick off of Rt 9. Further west is a great shop, DJ's Sportscards in Oxford. It is about an hour west.

I think that KC's closed, but am not certain.

A quick google search may find some additional ones.

Let us know if you get to any of them, and if you pick up anything great.

Have fun in Boston. It really is a fun town.

JJ Teaparty is long gone; they closed 4 years ago. I guess they still exist as a website, selling just coins.

Back in early 2012, I was up in Boston and happened to be walking by that store just in time to catch the announcement that Barry Larkin made the Hall.
