Oh this makes me sad. Only Grace card I've ever sold that I didn't have another. Went to a very good home though.

Honestly, I can not really say...

I have had so many cards go through my fingers over the last 30 years, and most of the 'outrageous' finds happened when I really knew nothing about cards! Like the time I was given a old cigar box full of tobacco cards. There had to be a few hundred of them, all in decent condition from what I can remember. I was only like 11 and sold them all to a guy down the road from me who collected cards for like $2 a piece. I remember getting the 4 or 5 hundred and thinking I got one over on him.

I, however, do know I had a 51 bowman Mays in very good condition, along with a couple hundred others(51 bowmans). At the time, I really only knew the Mays and Mantle(did not have the mantle). Again, I was like 14 and they were all given to me. I could not even tell you what I did with thoes! I can remember busting Boxs of 86 Fleer basketball and knowing nothing of who was on the cards, just a cheap bust for like $7 a box.

The one card that will always stand out to me, and I've mentioned it here a few times already, was that dead mint Schmidt I pulled for a pack in 89'ish. It was centered beautifully, and was flawless. Even back then, I sold it for 2x book value to a local shop owner it was so nice. If there was ever a vintage card that could be a 'better than' 9 grader, it was that. Imagine owning a PSA/BGS 10 Schmidt RC? I think it would have been possible with that card!

What was the reason you had to let that beauty go?

This is the best pull I ever had...Came from a $90 box of 04 UD Etchings...second to last pack...4 packs earlier I pulled a Ripken auto/100. I the Jeter for a Jordan auto/jersey/100, which I traded for an 01 SPx Pujols auto, which I sold for $650.

Medical bills from birth of second son. It's only cardboard, right? I made a profit and it went to a respected board member for their PC, so I've made my peace.

Easy. It's the most valuable card I've ever owned but I couldn't pass up the price.

Picture is from the owner's Photobucket; at the time I pulled it I did not have a scanner and used a cheap (sucky) digital camera for the pic.

No longer have the scan, actually I don't think I ever actually had a scan of it (so I had to borrow one from eBay). I bought it off of Yahoo Auctions, with the base, for $15. Once I got it in the mail took it to the shop, had them list it for me. Sold it for 350-400, don't remember exactly.
