I no longer have scans but my "2" would be a:

Albert Pujols BC Auto RC--Bought the redemption for $150. Sold a couple months later for $350, a good price at the time... ::facepalm::

1989 UD Ken Griffey Jr. PSA 10--Got that graded at the 2001 National. J.P. was here and went with me and saw the card. I believe he had a '01 Finest Pujols auto RC graded at the show as well. (J.P., is my recollection correct?)
Anyhoo, sold it for $400 when they were going for $300. Then they shot up to $2,500.00-$3,000.00. They have obviously shot waaaaay back down but back then I could have shed a tear.

Glad I could give you a good chuckle. Guess I won't mention the Fleer Jordan rookie I opened for a '79/80 Topps BK wax pack...

Seriously though, back when basketball had not yet taken off I could have picked up Jordan Rookies for $50 all day long. To go along with that I could have picked up the Magic/Bird/Erving card many times for $5.00.
Maybe my best pickup was a Joe Montana '81 Topps RC for $1.00 before football really picked up. I also remember picking up '84 Topps FB packs at 3/$1.00 and I bought a box for $11.00.

Lastly I remember a show where a guy had a '52 Mantle that was vg/ex for $2,000.

OHHHH, if we could all go back in time...... :(

My goodness. You know we used to have a Woolworth's in the town I grew up in, but obviously it looked nothing like that!

This card alone is worth more than my four 2009 Tiger Slam cards- I knew someone had to have owned, or owns one of these!! (or did you? :? )

I've had that pic in my bucket for several years. Here's a bigger copy if you want it. Oh if only we could go back... :)

The ironic thing is that we would probably not appreciate or value those cards if we could always go back and look/get it. :)

Anyone ever think about how "worthless" these would be if 1000's of good condition copies were available?

What if only one person owned them and either kept them all for himself, or introduced them to the market extremely slowly?

Honestly have no idea which it would be. I've never had an insanely high end card. These are probably the best ones.

I don't have a scan of it any more, but the most valuable BASEBALL card I sold was a 2004 Playoff Prime Cuts Alex Rodriguez auto/patch 1/1. I sold it a week after he got traded to the Yankees for $1,600.

The most valuable I've ever sold from any sport was this:
