This one is my favorite card in my entire collection. He is my favorite Hall of Famer ever to play the game.

My grandpa handed down this card to me about 2 years ago. He said to me "whenever you look at this card, I want you to remember me". And he always brags that he bought it for 5 cents back in the early 60's. This is going to be a family heirloom, and remain in my collection forever.

The next one:

This is my other all time favorite players that ever played the game. He is THE TRUE HOMERUN KING. I got this for an absolute steal at a show 2 years ago for $5.

Just wanted to show them off, as I have never done so before :)

Just something about that Aaron card is amazing. The picture is great, but for some reason, I can't explain why. It's just different and I love it. Nice cards!

Great cards. I agree Penno, and you know what it is for me? It's that it pictures Aaron fielding, not batting. I love when a player that is known for one thing (hitting home runs in this case) is shown doing something he doesn't normally get attention for. Reminds me that a great ballplayer has to be good at so many different aspects of the game.

Just think, you'll get to tell whoever you give the Mays to the same thing your grandfather told you, and so on and so on. Awesome tradition starter!!

Fantastic story, and some great cards.

I have the same Mays card in my collection, some time around 1990 my Dad took me to a card show at a mall to stand in line to meet this guy named Willie Mays. I had an idea that he was a great player from the past but I had little desire to stand in line and get and autograph. ::facepalm:: For the two hours in line my Dad told me all about Mays and why he was his favorite player as a kid. Just before we got up to Mays, my Dad gave me this card, told me he had collected it as a kid and now it was mine to have Mays sign and keep. It was a great day, learned a lot about baseball and my Dad as a kid.

Sorry for the large scan.

Nice cards. It's always nice to have something like that from a grandparent. That card's worth 1000000x's more than if a PSA 10 version would pop up just for that.

Very cool. I think sometimes we can all get caught up in the excitement surrounding multi-colored patches, low #ed refractors and whatnot - this is a nice, alternative example of awesome cards.
