I went to the local show a few weeks ago, and it was pathetic. Well, actually it wasn't too bad, as there are a lot of football guys there, but as far as prospects...we are talking guys asking $80 for Justin Verlander Topps Chrome RC Autos, $60 for Billingsley Chrome Autos. I bring some of my prospects just in case someone has some stuff and wants to deal, but these people don't even know who my guys are. Alot of people go by BV there, so every now and then I get something halfway decent.

Most shows are not going to be prospect oriented.Prospects do not sell to the main hobby populace and the small amount it does sell to do not equal enough customers for dealers to bother worrying about.Hence why for the most part its hard to get any let alone get good deals on them at a show.Every now and again you'll see them but its few and far in between. And if its a small show its almost a given they won't be seen because people are only worried about bringing in the bargain stuff just hoping to recoup table costs.

And thank you for saying beckett is used by most people at the shows. My point proves itself more and more with each post this is mentioned in. :)

Yeah I am also sorry to say that prospecting is really more of a niche thing at shows, but clearly you'll see more of it at the largest shows. But this is probably a good thing for prospectors - too many prospectors makes it harder for them to make a buck.

I'll agree to that.
