Shriners Show Auto guests really hurtin lately.... 2025

Used to be a place to see big HOF names and perennial all stars in all sports signing, not just Boston locals either. (Rose, Rickey, Dominique, Marino, Boggs, etc.) REALLY hurting this year, and was same last year. The promoter now for autos is Sure Shot.... really seems like his contacts have dried up. The spring show is done by Luckys and had some big names (granted at far higher prices). http://gbsccconvention.com/appearances

I haven't been to the Shriners show in almost 20 years. Life got in the way. It was far the best show of my year. There are not too many cards I need for my sets. So, I won't be going to any shows soon. I used to live about 15 miles from the show. It was always great for vintage stuff that even I could afford. I remember the dealer Al Rosen sitting at the first table inside the door with a sour look on his face because no one was paying any attention to him. My favorite show was the one at Boston College High School.

It's still the best CARD show around, no doubt. I ll spend a while box diving. I was just remarking on the autograph guests.

Good Ol Mr Mint! He was a walking ego.He wore that **** on his face perpetually. In fairness, while I never sold to him, I was around a dealer who supplied him a LOT of high grade vintage back then. He always put the ego away when he was paying heftily for things from this guy and just paid cash.
