Seller says he got an offer of $8k pretty quick, but he says he's gonna send it to Beckett for authentication/protection, get posted in Beckett Baseball magazine, and then have them sell it on auction for him.

Is it really that hard to make your own clean/professional auction? ::facepalm::

Does that mean JSA? Will Beckett have the balls to call out Topps for using a fake auto/autos, or will they just grade it and slab it without any mention of authenticity?

Of course, both autos could be legit.

I would be shocked if this card pulls $15,000 if it's deemed to be authentic in every sense. There are so many cut autos of both of these players out there now, and there will no doubt be a LOT more. Spending more than $10,000 on this card will be a waste of money in my opinion.

It will be interesting to follow. Great pull! I hope the guy who pulled it gets a lot for it.

I personally think that booklet looks like ****... I would sell that as fast as I could for as much as market would bear. Would definately be happy to pull that from a box but only for retail purpose.. would never keep an ugly card like that for PC if I could cash in heavily on it.

Topps products for 09 suck IMO... can't wait to see if UD has something nice for '10.

Yeah, the card looks ridiculously awful. Either way, for those who think this is a 20K card, you gotta be nuts. 10K tops, and thats if the signature is deemed to be real. Looks bad. Plus, its a freaking triple threads card and no self respecting collector would ever spend the price of a mercedes on a card from this product unless they were rolling in cash.

He's probably trying to avoid any kind of stress on the booklet by laying it flat.

I don't buy that one. It wouldn't cause that much stress take a minute and scan it. It's a 2009 card not the Dead Sea Scrolls. Guy has amazing luck since he has a 1/1 Ruth out of Tribute too. Plus given that the seller has fairly low feedback and those pictures have been all over several card sites I would like to see better/different pictures or scans before shelling out cash for it.
